Marsala & Leopard

·
Marsala is the Pantone color of the year but I have only pulled it out once or twice.  Once again I happened across an instagram style challenge with Shannon {you can find her here) and today’s combo was marsala and leopard.  Believe it or not I could have created multiple outfits straight from my closet yet never once have I considered the two together.  Here is what I decided on.

Our office is definitely on the business casual side more often than not but I still like to feel pulled together.  This top is from Ann Taylor and it is almost four years old.  I know this of course because I purchased when I was on a trip to Vegas for Jordan’s 21st birthday!

The cardigan is from Loft and I seem to have the best luck with cardigans both here and from J. Crew Factory.  At loft I am able to purchase true to size in a medium but at J. Crew I always size up to a large.

Will school back in session my trusty photographer has been more busy than usual but I was able to drag him out for a few shots when I arrived home from work.

Eventually I’m going to branch out and purchase some fun colored Kendra Scott earrings but every time I try I just cannot make a firm decision.  I have this grey pair and a lighter neutral pair and both go with everything.

These black crop pants are also from Loft.  I love them because the fabric is a little thicker and has just the right amount of stretch.

These shoes I cannot say enough about.  I purchased last fall on super sale and I have never worn them without receiving at least one compliment during the day.  This exact shoe is unfortunately no longer available but you can find a similar style in this brand in tan here

Look out friends, I got a selfie stick and I’m not afraid to use it!  Actually, I am a little afraid that every person on the planet seems to have this figured out with no problems and the struggle is real for me over here.  Technology is awesome but I am a slow learner sometimes!
Have you incorporated the Pantone color of the year into your 2015 wardrobe?
Here are some posts I found with more ideas on how to bring this color to life for yourself.

If you have never shopped Farmgirl Paints before, her shop is open for an extended period for the first time!  She will be open until November 2nd and my readers will receive 15% off by using the code fangirlshellyj .  If her beautiful cuffs don’t sell you on their own then maybe her beautiful heart will.  Each time she opens her shop Becky chooses a charity to donate a portion of the sales to.  This time the charity is Raise for Rowyn which  you can read more about here.  A beautiful story of two women accepting Jesus together after a terrible tragedy and are now using this story to raise funds in Rowyn’s memory to pay funeral expenses for families who have lost children.
Her first box shot of cuffs was posted on instagram today and are pictured below.  For more inspiration follow her on IG here.  New cuff arrivals in the morning!

    1. I really need to branch out and purchase a color this year. My birthday is in October so I'm thinking I will use my birthday month coupon to buy a new pair and maybe a necklace…if I can decide on the color!! I really have been thinking I want pink.

    1. Aren't they fabulous? Super excited I grabbed them last fall….surprise they are comfy too. I really can't believe I've never put this outfit together before. Been fun shopping my own closet. Have a super weekend!

  2. I love marsala, burgundy, wine, bourdeaxu, oxblood – whatever they decide to call it. I really like it with the ruched tank top. So polished yet sexy. Those booties and earrings are beautiful and those cuffs are so fun and unique – never seen anything like that.

Enjoy your weekend Shell! Welcome by, Ada. =)
