Floral & Stripes

Another combo I was not expecting to ever pull together much less fall in love with!  Floral with stripes is something I have dabbled with over the summer here but I definitely was not as brave.
You may remember this grey and black stripe as it is actually a dress I purchased early in the fall.  I had been dying to wear this sweater and throwing it over this dress was a surprising find!
It needed a little extra pop so I added an old Stella & Dot necklace and a red bag.  This Kate Spade is very similar to mine.
The boots and blazer were perfect to make this outfit office ready.
As always dressing in layers here in Texas is a must in all seasons.  It might be chilly in the morning and in my office but the heat often rises quickly.
I just love this crazy pooch!  He is looking up at the wreath because he knows there are treats hidden there.  Sometimes when I’m taking pictures I will let him run around and the treats help me lure him back if he begins drifting a little too far.
For a slightly more casual look this faux fur vest adds an extra layer and still looks pulled together.
Have you ventured out to floral & stripes?  What are your favorite patterns to mix?

All of my pieces are sold out (does this mean I have good taste?)  but here are some other striped dresses I think would be perfect for layering.

  1. Floral FANTASTIC!!! It works so well with the stripes and blazer!! You look super gorgeous and I hope your day is Merry as can be!!

  2. I love the floral with the stripes and adding the sweater over the dress is a great way to get multiple looks out of the dress!

  3. I couldn't love your pattern mix more if I tried! This is so gorgeous and eye catching. I love the fur vest with it because, well, it's a fur vest and because it shows off the pattern mix more allowing the sleeves to show…although I get that the vest may not be practical depending on the weather. So beautiful!

  4. Stripes are perfect for pattern mixing, and your dress looks great here with the floral top! I like wearing tops over dresses too, although can't always do it as I'm petite and most of the time tops are too long on me, haha! I have a couple of cropped ones I make it work with 🙂

  5. That dress as a skirt and the floral sweater are meant to be together. Both pieces are so pretty. Your bag and boots are rich and beautiful.

I will catch up with the rest of your December posts next week. Now I wanted to wish you and your family Happy New Year 2016! Hugs, Ada.
