What’s Up Wednesday + Style Six
What’s up Wednesday! Is it my imagination or was I just writing this for October?!! Wow, November has been a flash. Today I’m sharing some looks and co-hosting the Style Six linkup with my sweet blog besties, I’m also linking up with Shay& Sheaffer. You can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun. You can also find me joining Welcome Wednesday and sharing some looks with with all my favorite weekly fashion linkups.
Let’s go…..
What We’re Eating this Week
Y’all, we are just not on our game! The win is that we have been eating at home but it has been quite the hodge podge. Add in a 24 hour stomach bug for mom and let’s just say it’s slim pickins’!
What I’m Reminiscing About
Definitely our vacation to Anna Maria Island last year! We had so much fun and part of me wishes we had jetted off for Thanksgiving week again.
What We’ve Been Up To
I met up with my blog besties for some catching up in person in Austin! We also took a day trip over to Waco and had so much fun! But then again we had just as much fun hanging in our comfy clothes eating charcuterie boards at a cabin by the lake! I’ll be counting the months until we get to do it again!
While I was gone this girl shot her first deer and worked on stocking up our freezer! I’m not sure who was more excited her or her daddy.
The biggest thing that happened is this big announcement that we will have S’more to love around here come May! I’m going to be a grandma y’all and I was so glad the secret was finally out!! I seriously cannot wait until we know what we are having!
I traveled to Fort Worth for work and took a chance meeting another onine friend in real life! This sweet reader was kind enough to meet me for dinner and we just fell right into discussion like it wasn’t even weird! I love the connections I’ve made in this space!
And then we celebrated signing day with Dillon as he signed his National Letter of Itent to play baseball next year at Rice University.
Last Sunday I headed to my hometown to have Thanksgiving lunch with my Mamaw at her assisted living facility. Isn’t she still just cute as can be for almost 93!
What I’m Dreading
Y’all…I’m not going to lie…I dread pulling together every blog post right now. Something wonk happened during the last WP upgrade and ever since I have not been able to load pictures directly without running them through PicMonkey. Figuring out technology sometimes makes me want to hurt someone. 🙂
What I’m Working On
Decorating for Christmas! I’m hoping to have the fall gone tomorrow so I can get started with Christmas decor. I’m changing up my tree a bit this year (or at least I’m attempting to) with a more neutral theme. I ordered this felt ball garland and really hope I can pull it together.
What I’m Excited About
The Beautycounter sale! Y’all, everything is 15% off with free shipping on orders of $50 or more. There are so many adorable gift sets to choose from and so many items that would be perfect to separate for multiple gifts such as the jellies or lipgloss set. This sale is good through December 1st while supplies last and it is good for almost everything on the site not just the gift sets. It’s the perfect time to give Beautycounter a try!
What I’m Watching/Reading
I didn’t do a ton of reading in November other than catching up on my Bible in a year plan. This book, Drowning with Others was the one I did complete. It is free with Kindle Unlimited and it definitely held my interest and had a twist I wasn’t expecting.
Last year I shared a little Merry Media I love. If you have never read The Greatest Gift and sometimes struggle with the stress of the holiday season, I highly recommend it. I still pick it up every year to help me stay focused on the real meaning of the season.
We also now have Disney plus and I think my husband has been watching it more than anyone else! I did talk him into trying Yellowstone so we are a couple of episodes in and I think it will be a win!
What I’m Listening To
I’ve been listening to this podcast each week and it’s been intriguing. Of course I grew up listening to Dolly, watching Hee Haw and the Portner Wagner show with my Meme and Papa so it has brought back some memories. They have done a good job with the interviews and just tying different things together.
What I’m Wearing
If you were here you would find me living in one of the 4 colors I purchased of this cozy legging tee and it’s still on sale for even less than I paid for it! I personally think it feels more like a sweater than a tee but it is so darn soft and seriously I have already gotten my moneys worth! I grabbed this vest on my girls trip at a boutique but have linked it here. It may seem a little pricey but it is REVERSIBLE so you are really getting 2 for 1 (girl math)! I have worn it multiple times as well!
I go back and forth on leggings but I’ve been on a bit of a kick for them lately. I wore my faux leather leggings layered with a fave lightweight flannel and cardigan and my wedge sneakers to a little birthday brunch and I felt so cute! Did I mention the party was for a 31 year old so I was kind of trying to work on my cool factor! My leggings can be found on the Spanx Black Friday sale 20% off or I’ve also linked a cheaper dupe.
And two of my newest favorites I paired together! I needed some new olive pants and found these at a local boutique. Then I got bit with the snakeskin once again becuase this crop jacket is, well, darling! Totally going to be on repeat as it’s lightweight enough for this Texas weather. Mine sold out super quickly from a local boutique but I found options here & here.
Also on sale is this fun buffalo plaid sherpa that is so soft and cozy. I’ve had my Hunter boots for about 5 years and I have to say they really do make a rainy day more tolerable! Find them here on sale in tons of colors at a really great price and they make such a fun Christmas gift.
Speaking of gifts, I used my Kendra Scott birthday 50% off on these earrings and I’ve been wearing nonstop! They are so much fun. Everything at KS is 25% off right now so it’s a great time to treat someone!
I try to share new purchases and try ons frequently on Instagram so hop on over if you haven’t already!
What I’m Doing this Weekend
Ummm….you mean after I stuff my face completely full of dressing and pumpkin pie? Well, I will be visiting with family and hopefully a couple of high school friends before heading back home to put up my tree!
Of course, if I can find some wifi in my sleepy hometown I will also be doing some Black Friday shopping because the sales are so good! Now to remind myself I’m suppose to be buying gifts for others and NOT myself!
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Soaking up some joy! An annual Christmas party to kick off the month, volunteering at Blessings in Bags with my family, baking my Meme’s chocolate cookies for friends and family and of course celebrating Christmas!
What Else is New
This girl right here stealing all the clothes out of my closet!! Y’all, Carly Jo gets the most changed award this year for sure!
