Let’s go…..
What We’re Eating this Week
Is there anything easier in the fall than chili? This is seriously one of the first things I make every year when the temps start to cool down. And yes, there are FRITOS under there!! We had a little cilantro so I tossed that in for a little more zing and it was so good.
If you generally love taco salad then don’t hesitate to top a bed of greens with some homemade chili either. I would have never considered it until I saw the taco salad at Jason’s Deli which adds the chicken chilli on top. It’s a surprisingly easy way to eat chili for leftovers without all the calories of frito pie!
And I tried to talk Keith into this swamp monster spaghetti but he wasn’t going for it! Kelly is a local blogger here in my little town and I seriously wanted to make this. You should totally check it out if you have a fun family dinner planned for Halloween!
What I’m Reminiscing About
Y’all, I just can’t even with this picture of my little cowboy!!
The pumpkin patch pictures have always been some of my favorites! I’m kind of missing that we don’t really do this anymore.
I mean SERIOUSLY….babies don’t keep!
What We’ve Been Up To
October is a HUGE birthday month for us and we celebrated Jordan on the 6th, Riley the 18th, me the 19th and Keith the 20th! It’s probably my favorite month of the year because I feel like I see all of these people the most frequently. Love them SO much!
We headed to Jupiter, Florida for….SURPRISE a baseball tournament! But we did have a mini vacation and it was so, so good to get away and just chill with my fave scenery. For real, hop on over to the full post as you don’t want to miss the sunset!
I turned FIFTY y’all! Let’s just say I ate all the cake I wanted and was loved on so well by my family and friends. You can see all the fun and read some of my thoughts by reading THIS IS 50!
Carly said buh-bye to braces and she is so happy! Now if I can get her to wear that darn retainer..ugh!!
Finally, Carly had a little pumpkin carving party with some sweet friends.
What I’m Dreading
Notta!
What I’m Working On
Deciding on family pictures for our Christmas card. I really, really wanted professional photos this year but also wanted to wait for Carly to have her braces removed. Mission accomplished and now we just need to find a date, location and outfits…no problem right?
What I’m Excited About
Cooler weather! It’s been so nice to have a break from the heat.
What I’m Watching/Reading
I shared what I’ve been reading lately a few weeks back and since then I’ve also read Drowning with Others and I have to say I thought it was so good with a little twist at the end I didn’t see coming.
What I’m Listening To
I don’t know why but I’ve had a sweet spot for this song lately and I tear up every time I listen to it!
The new series at church is Sever Anxiety. No, that’s not a typo, sever is the word. I missed week one so I was catching up by listening online where our pastor shares the personal struggle his wife has had with anxiety. It’s a great little series in case you are needing some help in this area.
What I’m Wearing
This little jacket has quickly become a favorite and works so many different ways in my closet to bring a little new life to some older pieces. So glad I took a chance and brought it home especially for the price!
I love this lace top and the black skirt but the outfit just felt a little too formal or a regular day at the office UNTIL I topped it off with a denim jacket.
A little out of my norm but I just had to try this dress becasue I am in LOVE with this plaid pattern. Obviously a dress but I’m wearing open and pairing with skinny jeans and a lightweight sweater. On the fence as to whether I can pull this off but I kinda like it!
My newest cardigan had me wishing all day Tuesday that I was in bed snuggling with a great book. Here is another very similar option.
What I’m Doing this Weekend
Meeting up with these chicks! We will be meeting up in Austin and spending most of our time there with one day trip to Magnolia Market! So much fun…cannot wait to see their faces in person!
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Eek…it’s time for National Signing Day for high school athletes committing to play a sport in college and we have one of those! So excited and don’t worry I’ll share the excitment here!
What Else is New
Such fun gifts launched this month with Beauty Counter! I’m totally adding the bright eyes treatment to my gift list! The jellies or mini oils would make such great stocking stuffers too. If you have been wanting to try Beauty Counter for yourself, let me know if I can help you pull together a wish list for someone who might be looking for just the right thing to make your holidays bright! I’d love for you to see some #BetterBeauty under the tree on Christmas morning.
And today is the very last day to get this charcoal mask FREE when you join Band of Beauty. This program is $29/year and includes free shipping (US) and 10% product credit.
What are y’all up to this wonderful Wednesday?
Now let’s get to linking with your fave looks of the week!
