What’s Up Wednesday – September

It’s the last Wednesday in September and we are still waiting on fall here in Texas!    Thankfully we have hopefully seen the end of 100 degree days but I’m so ready for some cooler temps and my hair is ready for lower humidity!

You know what else I’ve spent the whole month waiting for?  My favorite Wednesday of the month sharing a little of our month with What’s up Wednesday! I’m linking up with ShayMel & Sheaffer  and you can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun.

What's Up Wednesday September

What We’re Eating this Week

Does wine and dove dark chocolate count?  No?  What about grilled cheese?  Because thus far this week that is as good as it’s gotten at my house!  My husband was kind enough to pick up a rotisserie chicken and threw together chicken spaghetti with some leftover spaghetti noodles while I was out shopping for homecoming clothes on Tuesday night.

What I’m Reminiscing About

Baby Carly

This girl turned into a teenager this month so I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing!   She came screaming into this world just before Hurricane Rita and she’s been a whirlwind of fun ever since.  Somewhat sassy but oh so sweet!

What We’ve Been Up To

I shared a little Life Lately on Monday and I won’t bore those of you again with those details!

What I’m Dreading

Hmm….if I’m honest I may totally be dreading Christmas shopping!  haha

What I’m Working On

Decorating for fall while it’s still hot and muggy outside and trying really hard to photograph a home tour to show off when it’s been a little dreary.

What I’m Excited About

October is a birthday marathon for our family with my bigs, Keith and I all celebrating another year around the sun.  What it means for me is I typically have everyone together at one time and I look forward to it so much.

What I’m Watching/Reading

I’m not going to lie, I have not watched TV in months.  The new fall shoes have me itching to sit still and watch some TV but first I need to catch up with This is Us from Spring!

August Book Review #goodreads #bookreviewI shared my August book review which included some great reads but have not gotten around to September books yet!

Everyday Holy #melanieshankle #goodreads #devotions #primepurchase

What I am loving is the Every Day Holy Devotional!  I have read all of Melanie’s books but I honestly thing she has totally outdone herself with this devotional.  It’s not too late to grab your copy and follow along on Instagram using #100dayseverydayholy.  If you have a teen daughter at home, you might also pick up the Fearless Faith devotional.   I grabbed for Carly and have been so thrilled she is reading it!  If you want to get a little more feel for the Every Day Holy devotional you can see my inspiration from the first week or so.

What I’m Listening To

I am loving these two songs right now!  We saw Cody Johnson in concert at the end of August and were able to hear this new song and I cannot get enough.  Anytime I hear songs I feel sound exactly like Keith it just makes me turn to mush!  He’s such a man but he’s totally 100% crazy about me and it’s my favorite thing about him!

But y’all, if you have not taken a listen to Carrie Underwood’s new album rush right out and listen RIGHT NOW!  Rarely is there an album I find I want to listen to straight through more than once but this one is GOLD.  Now, if i can just figure out how listening will give me her dang legs!

What I’m Wearing

Long Cardigan #officestyle #fallstyle

I’ve shared several times, but this cardigan, these shoes and my new tote have been on repeat.  Not to mention this sweet little dress from Stitch Fix which will cross almost all seasons in Texas.

Pattern Mix #camo #floral #animalprint

Oh how I’ve been trying to find new ways to wear old pieces in my closet lately.  This dress needed just a little something and the animal print belt created a new look.  Of course I’m not sure how I ever thought I might not wear wine colored booties!

Wearing Lately #fallstyle

And if you really want to see more than just these shoes and this fabulous tote, you can see what else I’ve been wearing lately.

Fall Transition Outfit #fallstyle

I have been on the hunt for some new pants for work.  I’m not really tall (5’7″) but I do have really long legs and finding pants for work is always a challenge.  Regulars are too short to wear with heels and talls can sometimes be too long.  I also need a flattering fit because I have a really thick back end which sometimes is just not so flattering in pants.  I decided to take a chance on these black slacks while they were on sale and I’m so thrilled.  I did purchase the longs and I did size up to a 10 in this brand.  They have just the right amount of stretch but didn’t stretch out through the day.  They come in several colors and are currently buy one get one 50% off.

What I’m Doing this Weekend

We are going to see Taylor Swift!  All these girls wanted for their 13th birthday year was to see Taylor Swift and I’m lucky enough to have my friend Holly who makes dreams happen!  I’m double excited as Jordan is also coming along.  We will be seeing some more Houston murals along with some other sightseeing so be sure to follow along on Instagram!

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Blogger Meet Up!

Eek!  I’ve been wanting to share this news FOREVER!!  I’m super excited to be heading to Nashville to meet up with these ladies.  It will be the first time we have all met in real life and I can hardly contain myself!  I’d almost guarantee there will be some shopping and good food along the way!

What Else is New

Totes Organized #organization #tote #accessories

This tote organizer has seriously been a game changer for me.  As much as I love my tote, it was not functional without some help.  I’ve heard from several of you who have grabbed the organizer and it works so well in an average tote but also in your favorite Louis neverfull!  I grabbed size large and chose a fun color but know it comes in like 14 colors!  So functional and really, all girls should have one for her tote.
