What’s Up Wednesday {September}

Today I’m linking up with ShayMel & Sheaffer for this months What’s Up Wednesday!  The questions are in green so check it out and join the fun.  Also joining Jessi and Jenn for What’s Hap- “Pinning” Wednesday.
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK….

This sandwich doesn’t look like much but I’m attending a conference in downtown Houston and we dined at Zero’s sandwich shoptoday.  Homemade buns, toasted just perfectly and so yummy!

And y’all, my friend Beth mentioned this cereal and I was immediately on my way to find it!  I have so been having a bowl every night for my dessert.
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT….
Carly Jo turned 11 last week so I have definitely been reminiscing about this girl and loving the stage she is in right now.  She is just so much fun to be around but also keeps me pretty honest.
WHAT I’M LOVING….
Inspiration
This girl y’all!  She wrote a little guest post on Monday and I’m just so loving the strength and hope she has found in her 26th year!  She will celebrate her birthday this coming week and I just cannot wait to see what this next year will hold!
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…
Friends we have had the past THREE weekends at home with no plans!!  It has been amazing.  I have gotten so much and so little done.  Every weekend I have relaxed a little but also tackled a project or two.  I finally painted Carly Jo’s room and am almost ready to reveal her big girl room.  Waiting for one last finishing touch!  This weekend we again have zero plans!!
WHAT I’M DREADING….
Nothing y’all…I’m dreading nothing and it feels amazing!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON….
Tying up the Blog-temper Challenge! Y’all, I have posted all but one day the month of September, mainly using the prompts from Miss Bailey Jean.  Some have been tough but others have been so much fun.  It was fun to stretch myself a little and I definitely had to be more intentional with my time and plan a little better.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT….
The fall temps!  We received the first little wave of cooler, dryer air this week and it has been heavenly.  I have been super stoked to pull out my scarves.  Tall boots are next!
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING….
I am STILL reading this book!! I’m not gonna lie.  I’m almost over it and if I don’t finish this weekend I may just have to write it off.  It’t not that it isn’t a good book but it is soooooo long!  So i f you  have lots of time to kill and don’t have a short attention span then  The Royal We is definitely one worth picking up.
Seriously, if you are NOT watching this show yet stop reading my blog right now and go do whatever it takes to catch up!!!  Y’all, I  have not started a series from the first episode in YEARS and I am super excited about this one.
I’m also recording the Voice and I am LOVING it.  I’m kind of over Blake Shelton but other than that it has been so much fun to watch and I have been a little teary eyed more than once over the auditions.  Carly and Dillon are watching with me so that has also given us a little time to “hang” which I’m always a fan of!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO….

A few weeks back I was at a mom’s meeting and all of a sudden one of the ladies said “Alexa stop”, and I thought I knew everyone in the room and was so confused.  Holy moly, sometimes I’m certain I live under a rock y’all!!  So of course once I found out what Alexa was and saw Amazon had a deal on the Amazon Tap one Saturday morning, I quickly ordered.  What I did not know is that tap meant you actually had to touch the device to order it around instead of just speaking.  Other than that I have been listening to Alexa constantly!  We have loved asking her to play dinner music from prime music and I even asked for some cleaning music and she found something peppy!   I will say, if I had to do it over I would probably order the Amazon EchoAmazon Echo but the one thing I do love about the Tap is it can be moved from room to room very easily and from what I understand the Echo has to stay plugged in .  I am NOT techy so I’m sure there is more to learn!
WHAT I’M WEARING….

Fall Style

Lots of items I can transition like this sleeveless swing dress paired with a black blazer.

These Tom’s wine booties have already been pounding the pavement!

Fall colors and…told ya here are the Tom’s booties again!

Fall patterns like this buffalo plaid and leopard and these black booties are also on repeat.

Dressing up camo for work and wearing these fave flats from last year.

And of course a great scarf now that I won’t smother.
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND….
Last weekend I moved the little kid furniture out of Dillon’s room and exchanged it with our old master bedroom furniture.  This weekend I’m hoping to work with Keith to install this shelving.  Hopefully his new bedding will also make it by the weekend and I can show you guys pictures of this upgraded big boy space.
WHAT AM I LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…

October is my birthday month….and I share it with Jordan, Riley and Keith!  Riley will be home from Florida just in time for his birthday and I just always love knowing I’m going to have all my peeps together so many times!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW….
Can’t think of another thing!
Hope you all have a super Wednesday!

  1. I'm with ya love…all the peeps together makes my heart happy!! I am DVR-ing the Voice because we are watching so many other shows, we usually marathon it on a weekend to get caught up before the battle rounds. Happy belated to sweet Carly Jo and I'm dubbing October the month of Shelly!!!

  2. Isn't the life UH-mazing?! I've had the Cheerios, the Life and the Special K in their pumpkin spice flavors and I kid you not the Life is THE best of all of them. I bought another box the other day :P. Also I may or may not have an addiction to pumpkin Spice. So glad you found some.

  3. Can't wait to see your completed redecorating. I have been tempted many times to get the Amazon echo, but then I don't because we already have a lot of electronics. Maybe an idea for Santa? I'm glad you are getting some downtime on your weekends lately. 🙂

  4. So many fun things! I love all your pretty fall transition looks–especially the one with the yellow cardi and burgundy booties! I've heard good things about The Royal We but haven't had a chance to pick it up–I didn't realize it was a long one though.
