What’s Up Wednesday – May 2019
What’s up Wednesday! I’m linking up with Shay& Sheaffer and you can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun. You can also find me joining Welcome Wednesday and sharing some looks with with all my favorite weekly fashion linkups.
What We’re Eating this Week
Last month I shared Cook Once Eat All Week and I finally pulled it out and tried a week. After cooking and shredding the pork butt, this dish was the first of three. The next afternoon I walked in to find my husband cooking up the rest of the shredded pork with onions to make street tacos! Guess I will be sure to label everything on my next try!
Tuesday was National Hamburger Day and we grilled up enough to have leftovers for a few days. Hopefully tonight we will have time to fry the fish we caught over the weekend!
What I’m Reminiscing About
This time of year my Timehop is full of so many memories! It seems fishing on Memorial Day Weekend tends to be somewhat of a tradition and I didn’t even realize it! Last days of school, graduations and lots and lots of baseball! Here are a few from today! Don’t blink friends!
What We’ve Been Up To
May has been a busy month! We had 5 baseball playoff games, 2 dance recitals, 1 dance showcase, 1 dance banquet, prom and the end of the school year and a quick trip to the coast. It flew by! You can always catch up on our happenings in the Queen’s Chronicles!
What I’m Dreading
I’m not going to lie, right now I’m dreading the mosquitoes this summer! They are already terrible and so far I seem to be a prime target.
What I’m Working On
Finalizing our calendar for June! It is FULL of baseball and dance and I need to get organized. I also need to work on some chores for the teenagers as I’ve made a deal with them if they will do some work this month WITHOUT COMPLAINING I will upgrade their iPhones. I’ll report back!
What I’m Excited About
Summer! Even though I do have to work, it’s a nice break knowing there are no lunches to pack and no sassy teenagers to drive to school.
What I’m Watching/Reading
If you have not had the chance to watch Brene´ Brown on Netflix yet, take some time for this one! I just adore her and she is full of so much wisdom!
Another Kindle Unlimited read I enjoyed! The Forgotten Hours started a little slow but quickly sucked me in and by the end I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. For a free read this one was definitely worth my time!
I’m currently reading True Places which is also a free read and I’m definitely engaged by chapter 5.
What I’m Listening To
I’ve been back on the podcast train and listening to some of my favorites lately. When I’m out walking is my favorite time to listen even though I have to stop often to take notes in my phone!
This listen had some amazing takeaways! Even though Christy is focused on helping with business, her tips are great for every day life too. I loved this listen on being content and my biggest takeaway was we can be content where we are while we are still striving for where we are going!
And I was kind of blown away by Jordan Lee Dooley who is only 25 years old! If that had not been shared I would have never guessed. In this world where we are all trying to figure out how to make an impact, my take away was a quote she actually shared from a conference she attended. “Change your belief about failure. You’re either going to get the outcome you wanted or the lesson you needed,” I love that!
What I’m Wearing
After my closet cleanout, I’ve been doing a really great job wearing the clothes I already have! I have purchased a few new items here and there for summer but have also been really enjoying my old favorites too.
These wedges were my favorites last year and I’ve been wearing them again nonstop! I’ve had another color in my cart since last summer and FINALLY they are on sale! I grabbed another pair in grey but the pink suede and white are also on sale.
If you love little boutiques, you might want to check out Threads which is a new local boutique with an online shop as well. I fell in love with this dress which is so soft and has pockets! Nothing over $70 and they have some super cute accessories for under $20!
This little skirt WITH POCKETS has been one of my very favorite purchases this spring! I’ve dressed it up for work and also thrown on with a t-shirt and flip flops.
What I’m Doing this Weekend
Good question! Surprisingly we have one last weekend before baseball fills our summer. I’d love to do a little organizing in the kitchen and tackle a couple of projects around the house. I could also see myself setting in for something creative. Maybe decorate for the 4th of July?
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Carly has dance nationals in Orlando, Florida and we are going to take my niece along for the ride….literally because I’m planning to drive! We are hoping to stop at the beach for a couple of days on our way there and visit Harry Potter World if you have any tips for me!
What Else is New
My blogging has been somewhat on the back burner this month but as summer heats up I shared a few ways to experience a little adventure this summer!
Wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday!
