What’s Up Wednesday – July
What’s up Wednesday! I’m linking up with Shay& Sheaffer and you can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun. You can also find me joining Welcome Wednesday and sharing some looks with with all my favorite weekly fashion linkups.
What We’re Eating this Week
Umm….does cereal count? While the kids are away at camp I definitely see no reason to mess up the kitchen! Last night I had an event and Keith literally made hamburger meat, gravy and toast. It’s a fend for yourself kind of situation as I think we have made a solo trip to the grocery store the entire month of July (gasp).
What I’m Reminiscing About
My kids look forward to their week at camp ALL SUMMER and it’s finally here. I love having all our past camp year photos pop up on my Timehop. This is Dillon’s 10th and final year heading to TBarM and Carly’s 7th. I can’t wait to hear about their week!
I will never forget the look on Dillon’s face the first time I picked him up from camp and he came running to us! Of course I’ll also never forget the layer of fur on his teeth and the fact that he was wearing the same clothes at pick up I had seen him wearing in the pool the night before from camp pictures! Pretty sure he only wore one pair of underwear that whole week too! Ha!
These two are about to begin their senior year! Where does the time go!
Proof that I CAN be a Pinterest mom if I really, really want to!
What We’ve Been Up To
Let’s just say we have spent a TON of time on the road this summer. While the girls roadtripped to Florida the boys headed to Atlanta. I made two trips to Dallas with Dillon and we made it to Albuquerque and back afor more baseball. Crazy!
I’m realizing I didn’t share much from our Florida roadtrip but hope to do a little recap soon on our visit to Harry Potter!
I shared our little roadtrip to Albuquerque on Monday and this picture just gives you preview of the beautiful scenery!
We have also been able to log a few hours volunteering and are always super excited when our besties are signed up on the same day!
Dillon and I traveled up to Dallas for a night and stayed at Hotel Indigo in Frisco which was absolutely precious. Isn’t my boy just so handsome all dressed up?
These boys had a great summer and were invited to the Texas Scouts Association dinner and game the next day. It was a fun event with tons of scouts on deck. I totally forgot how crazy the summer before senior year would be for a baseball recruit.
And I was super excited to grab lunch with one of my college besties! I love this girl so much and even though we don’t even talk regularly when we get together it’s as if zero time has past.
What I’m Dreading
Nothing! I’m not even sad summer is coming to a close because I’m craving a routine again!
What I’m Working On
Launching my new venture with Beautycounter! I began trying a product here and there this spring and decided to take the plunge a few weeks ago when I saw the latest product launch, Counter Time. So far I have been impressed with the size, feel, smell of the products and how a little goes a really long way. This regimen is meant to last 10 weeks!
Right now I’m spending some time getting to know the business and products but if you are looking to change up your skincare I will be sharing more goodness soon!
What I’m Excited About
Fun collaborations! Today I’m participating in a little photo shoot for a local boutique to showcase gameday outfits. If you are a reader AND an Aggie you will want to be sure to check out Threads Boutique and see what goodness they are bringing to Aggieland.
This tee has been a fave purchase this summer! Everything at Threads is under $70. As always, you can use the code QUEEN15 for a little discount.
I also collaborated with Caite & Kyla in July to bring you this sweet embroidered look. As you may have noticed these sandals and this little rattan bag have been repeated all summer long!
What I’m Watching/Reading
The Good Liar is my current read and I’m so close to finishing! It’s a page turner and defintiely a fave Kindle Unlimited find. If you haven’t tried it yet, you can sign up and the first month is free. I have definitely found some great reads as part of this program.
We made the switch from dish to Sling TV last month and so far there are no complaints! We are using the Fire Stick to stream and I’ve been happy with less of the remote clicking sound!
What I’m Listening To
I know I already mentioned this podcast last month but, y’all, it has been way more entertaining than I expected! There are only like 8 episodes so easy to keep up with!
My latest podcast binge has been Culpable. There are only about 8 episodes on this one too and it has totally drawn me in. Note, it does contain content surrounding suicide if this is a trigger you may want to avoid it.
What I’m Wearing
Let’s just say after eating my way through summer I’m wearing whatever still fits! Yikes, I’m not super thrilled with myself right now but it is what it is and changing it will take a little time. Here are a few fave outfits lately!
I tried something new and tied this sweet little Chambray shirt over my black romper and LOVED the way it turned out! Sometimes the pieces in my closet just need a little inspiration and a different view.
If you are still looking for a summer wedge that will transition straight into fall, THIS IS THE PAIR! I have these in two colors and they are on sale in several shades.
I grabbed this tank when Hi Sugarplum launched her latest collab with Gibson but had not thrown it on until this past week. Isn’t it darling? It will now be on repeat because it’s the best weight for a tank, has a super flattering cut and received a ton of compliments. I love it paired with my fave shorts!
Obviously since my clothes don’t fit I need to be wearing more of this look AND actually wearing it to workout! Ha! I haven’t shared any Nordstrom Anniversary posts but these leggings are one of my fave buys. I also stock up on a new pair of Zella leggings during the sale and I love this fun green.
What I’m Doing this Weekend
Celebrating 18 years of being married to this guy! I’m sure we will be just as fancy as we look here on our actual anniversary as it’s camp pick up day. We are going to spend a night in Austin and I’m sure eat something yummy on Friday!
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Being back on a schedule!! School doesn’t start around here until the 15th but after this week my kids summer is pretty much over as dance picks back up in full swing on Monday. We will enjoy our new tradition with our besties of a back to school “brinner” and kickoff the new year on a postiive note!
What Else is New
So last month I updated you guys on Riley and let you know he is back in the Astro system. Let’s just say this was not the season he dreamed about for sure but I’m happy to say he has remained positive. He is now with the Round Rock Express so we are thankful to have him near! I loved reading this little interview as it really let’s me see he has grown through this ordeal.
What are y’all up to this wonderful Wednesday?
