Let’s go…..

What We’re Eating

This baked chicken parmesan is on the menu this week from Gimme Delicious. I have tried it before and it’s so good! We are also having a simple hamburger steak and I made my moms meatloaf so we are trying our best to eat at home.

What I’m Loving

This is a new product from Beauty Counter and I’m obsessed with it. It smells so good and feels so incredibly hydrating.

What We’ve Been Up To

Lake Travis #family #weekend

We kicked off July with a long weekend away at Lake Travis. It was the best time having all my kids together for a little fun in the sun.

Haisley was with Riley for the first two weeks of July so it was all hands on deck for babysitting while he was at work. I loved having this girl for a little extra time and sweet memories over snow cones.

Carly Jo headed to Costa Rica for a week with the church for a mission trip. She had an amazing experience sharing Jesus and came back feeling extra grateful for our life here in America. She said she was never so happy to flush the toilet paper again.

The one big thing I’ve gained since moving my mom into memory care is Saturdays with this guy doing whatever we want. We headed for lunch downtown and picked him out a new custom cowboy hat and I had butterflies all over again!

Dressed up as CEO Barbie for my early morning workout and was matching with my instructor! They make coming to workout so fun.

My mom continues to do well in memory care and we are all just so happy about it. There have been four residents decline and pass away in the last few weeks and I know we will have some hard days ahead but I’m just so thankful she is in a place where she can be cared for appropriately and is safe. We will continue to soak up whatever we can while we still can.

What I’m Working On

Well technically I’m not doing the work, but I’m excited to have the last little piece of our guest bathroom reno starting this week. We have replaced counter tops and bathtub tile in the past but we are now having the floors redone as well as adding new cabinet fronts and painting the cabinets a fun color. This tile was my inspo and I can’t wait for it to be complete.

What I’m Listening To

My friend Laura recommended the Scamanda podcast and I flew through it. It was honestly shocking the lengths Amanda went through to scam people almost to the point I feel she believed it herself. It just goes to show we always have to do our own due diligence when meeting someone online or even in our community that we don’t have daily relationships with. It’s easy to become someone else when others don’t know your full life story. I truly like to think the best of others and have been surprised to find an online friend was not quite telling the true story of her life. Nothing like this scam but it was enough to realize it was not the friendship I thought it was.

What I’m Watching/Reading

I wrapped up my July book review and currently The Friend Zone is on my kindle. I have read two other books by Abby Jimenez and enjoy the chic lit little love stories. Hoping this will be the same.

Not a fan has been on my reading list for quite a while so I’m jumping in. It’s definitely easy to be a fan of Jesus but I want to work on deepening my relationship and be more a follower.

What I’m Wearing

Julia Jordan dresses are some of my favorites. They are good quality, fun patterns and always have a little something extra. For this one it is the flutter sleeves and slight ruffle around the neck I love. I love the colors and feel it will transition well into fall and could even work for a Christmas party.

Another Julia Jordan dress with a fun tie in back and a front slit. I really loved this one too but am feeling the color of the first one is going to be more for me.

Really wanted to love this one on me because I love the pleats and have nothing like this in my closet. I liked it but was not in love as I just feel where it hits me is not the most attractive spot. Other than that, I love the sleeves and the pattern so much. Such a great quality dress!

My shoes are Vince Camuto from last years Nsale but this is the current style sandal that comes in several colors. I have loved having a fun color and they are very comfortable.

I grabbed these Madewell kick crop jeans for Carly to try but decided I’d slip them on to see if we could share! I like them but always hesitate with the crop on myself. My legs are really long and they always seem to hit at the wrong spot unless I can find them in a tall. Super cute and stretch though.

It makes me hot just thinking about how hot I was trying on this sweater right now! I really wasn’t wanting any sweaters but did order this one because I thought it was cute and knew I needed a new black one. Keith and I are going on a trip to Colorado the first week of November so I decided I would need it. I loved it so much I’ve ordered in pink as well.

What I’m Doing this Weekend

I’m sure I will be working on purging all the crap I pulled out of the bathroom before the reno started and my happy little organizing heart will be finding the best way to put it all back!

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Back to school and back to a routine! It is Carly’s senior year and I know it will be filled with so many of those last little memories. I want to soak them all up. Carly’s best friend (more like a sister really) is actually leaving for Memphis for college on Sunday. She is a photographer so they actually braved the heat to take a first round of some senior shots this last weekend. I can’t wait to see the rest!

Bonus Question: What Amazon Purchase Did I Love This Month

I grabbed this little device during prime days for $16 but it is still only $19.99. I have LOVED it! I had so many cords hanging around my nightstand and now I just have this organized little station for all my items.

That’s alot of what’s up with me…what’s up with you?
