What’s Up Wednesday {February 2016}
Today I’m linking up with Shay, Mel & Sheaffer for this months What’s Up Wednesday! The questions are in green so check it out and join the fun.
{WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK}
I threw this Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin in the crock pot Tuesday morning sans honey and it was delicious.
Thursday Shay’s Baked Spinach Pesto Tacos are on the menu and they are the bomb. My family loves them. It has been awhile since I’ve thrown this one together. Bonus when there are leftovers it also tastes so good with eggs the next day.
I think I’m needing a little carb splurge so my favorite Lasagna is on the list for Friday night dinner. Hoping maybe my daughter and her boyfriend will come over so it will be wiped out in one night.
{WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT}
Last February we took a quick trip to Arizona to watch TCU baseball and took the opportunity to drive to see the Grand Canyon. No pictures can really capture the beauty. These pictures have been popping up all week on my time hop and reminding me how much fun we had.
{WHAT I’M LOVING}
Have you seen the new line of DV items at Target?!! So much cuteness. I have not had a chance to go try any of these shoes on or check out the bags but I’m loving what I see and right now they do have $10 off $50 at least online and I assume the same in the store.
Espadrilles||Boots||Crossbody||Wedges||Weekender Bag||Turquoise Sandas||White Sandals||Handbag||Fringe Booties||Lace Up Heels||Lace up Sandals
{WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO}
Basketball ended but we jumped right into 7 on 7 football and spring baseball. Carly Jo has been to slumber parties the past two weekends in a row. This time of year the first thing that seems to go by the wayside is date night so I put together a list of 16 dates I’d like to take this year.
{WHAT I’M DREADING}
Our yard has been ignored for far too long and needs some love. I know the finished product will make me so happy but I’m somewhat dreading all the leaves we will need to bag before we can even get started!
{WHAT I’M WORKING ON}
I shared some room inspiration I’ve been pinning last week for both Carly and Dillon’s rooms. I really want to give their spaces lots of thought and make it truly something they love. I think we have the paint colors narrowed down and I’m trying to decide on furniture…some new, some old….and repainting what we have.

{WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT}
Spring training for Riley started this week and I just can’t wait to hear all about it and see where the year takes him! He has worked so hard in the off season and I’m so proud of him.
{WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING}
I’m not even going to lie…all you people knocking out multiple books a month and I can barely make it through one every three months. I finally finished Daring Greatly and have started this book. Hoping it goes faster because my reading list just keeps getting longer and longer.
{WHAT I’M LISTENING TO}
I’m so on the Bieber band wagon! I love this song!
{WHAT I’M WEARING}
I’ve been wearing lots of items from my closet!
My favorite field jacket (similar one here) over a floral top to start thinking about spring! Trading out scarves for a fun necklace as the temperatures start rising. My crossbody is sold out but you can find a similar option here or here which are also priced well. I am restraining myself from purchasing this Sole Society bag.
I have worn this sweater so many times and so many different ways. This was definitely one of my best purchases this season. Loved layering it with a chambray shirt recently and popping on my Kendra Scott necklace.
I’ve been obsessed with vertical striped tops like this one or this one and low and behold I actually had one in my closet! Who knew how cute it would be with my red jacket?
After Riley signed last year I started paying attention to orange and navy with hopes I will eventually have a chance to wear it! Love how this Pleione top came together with a little spring color but still holding onto winter with my OTK boots.
This top..y’all it’s just been hanging around for a long while and I can’t even remember the last time I wore it. Thing is I LOVED wearing it so hopefully I’ll pull it out more often. I was so glad when I saw these pearls on the J. Crew Factory site shown worn unclasped long…it took my mind a minute to accept this could happen but I finally figured it out. One necklace two ways!
I am still working on figuring out how to wear white jeans in the winter but I feel like I actually nailed it with this look and I was super proud!
{WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND}
We are headed to my hometown this weekend for a friends wedding and I’m excited about seeing some people I haven’t seen in a really long time. At least I’m pretty sure I’m excited about this! haha
{WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH}
Florida! I booked our trip and we are so excited about some time away. Hopefully we will also have some time with Riley and see him throw a time or two. Narrowing down our plans which will include fishing, beach time and possibly a tour of the Kennedy Space Center. Carly & I are also plotting a marathon Disney in a day.
{WHAT ELSE IS NEW}
I think this list pretty much covered everything!
{FAVORITE EASTER TRADITION}
I really think being in church as a family is my favorite Easter tradition. We have not done this often enough as a family over the years so when we are able to be together it always fills my heart. Of course there will be egg dying and maybe an egg hunt along with a yummy lunch. I typically make my fruit salad and last year we served brunch after early church and it was perfect! Seriously….how in the world could these kids have grown up so fast!!

Love love love all your outfits!!!! And yay for a Florida trip !!!
I adored this post, so much goodness!! So that last outfit, with your vest, white pants and
Amazing scarf; in love, borrowing that, lol! And we love pork tenderloin, this looks grand and lasagna is my favorite but I don't make it every often, now I'm hungry for it! I've never been to the Grand Canyon…breathtaking!! Those family pictures are so wonderful, isn't it something how we blink, and they're older.
Weddings are always fun. I hope you have a blast. The crock pot is my saving grace and your dinner looks so yummy! Your pictures of all those shoes is reminding me that spring is coming and I need to do some Spring clothes shopping. Ahh 🙂 Target after work it is!
That crock pot pork looks SO good!!!
And, of course, LOVE all your outfits!
Thanks for linking up with us 🙂
You always have such great outfits, love them!
Your target picks are fabulous, too!
I LOVE the DV line at Target!!! Also your Baked Spinach Pesto Taco recipe sounds amazing. Thanks for posting!
Oh Easter is just my favorite, I can not wait for it this year. Last year was kind of a rough one and I am hopeful this year will be better. How do you take those angled down photos. They all look amazing! Tell me your secret?!
I got the DV Sandals in white (like you have in turquoise up there) and I love them! I'm totally ordering a second color – maybe even that turquoise!
You look fab (as usual) and the food looks great! Let me know how that book goes – I want to read (versus watch) something by him! Thanks for linking up today! xo
My goodness! Your outfits are just so cute. I may or may not be headed to Target to check out that collection…. Eek! Florida will be so fun! I'd be breaking out shorts and wedges if I were you! Disney in one day??!! Good luck, my friend 🙂 If I had to skip one park, it would be The Animal Kingdom. But honestly, you'll want to go back 100 more times. Praying for a wonderful and safe trip. Have fun!
Your life is full friend. The Easter pictures, time has flown for sure. I know how much people love reading these kind of posts so be sure to post to my party today – Party at My Place, opens at 7:00 a.m. Hope to see you there!
We went to Arizona for spring training last year and and a trip to Grand Canyon. It was such a great place!
Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!

OMG I loved looking at the kids Easter pictures. So precious. And I agree Arizona is a gorgeous state but how fun you will get to go to Florida for vacation, next month (another great state). I loved what you have been wearing recently. You look gorgeous in florals and red always. That gorgeous pendant orange necklace where is it from? I also love love that embroidered white tunic. It is a beauty! I finally purchased one of those Rayne necklaces from Kendra Scott, by the way. =)
Ada you are going to rock the Rayne necklace!! I seriously can't believe how much I have worn it and think I need a new spring color. The orange necklace I picked up at a local boutique last summer and it has been a fun piece. I am so excited about Florida…but hoping we may make it back to Arizona in October this year!
We were in Arizona for baseball too Alice but college instead of spring training…couldn't help but make the drive to the Grand Canyon when we were so close! Heading to spring training in Florida this year since my son is now a minor leaguer!!
Your little party has been quite successful! Thanks so much for hosting!
Thank you Rachel! I seriously can't wait to pull out shorts and wedges….and also some self tanner haha. Most of my family is not the Disney type but my little and I we travel well together and I know if anyone can do it we can. I think we have decided to only attempt Magic Kindgom. Hopefully my son will be playing in the minor (or someday major) leagues for awhile and we will got back again.
I am seriously trying to find time to read Jessi….I started the book but haven't gotten very far. We have lots of baseball weekends and a trip this month so hopefully I'll knock some reading out.
Oh my gosh Leah….I received these yesterday in the cognac color and they are so comfy!! Definitely think a 2nd pair will be necessary! I was shocked by the wedges too..I ordered in black and wasn't sure I would like the material but they are so comfy!
Haha…the selfie has taken lots and lots and lots of practice! I seriously nail it in one try some days and others I'm like 30 shots in before I figure out just the right angle.
Kelsey….if you take any advice from me…make the tacos!! And oh my goodness…I got a pair of sandals and the black wedges in the mail yesterday and they are fab!
Seriously..I've tried a few of the shoes now and they are super!
Crock Pot queen that you are…this one is a winner. Not a morsel was wasted!
Girl….spring is HERE and my toes did NOT get the memo. Eek! I did receive a couple of the shoes in the mail yesterday and they are fabulous!
Seriously….I can't believe it took me all winter to put that outfit together! Best part of taking outfit pictures is being able to look back next year and remember the combos. I don't make lasagna very often due to the low carb downer but I did make it on Sunday and it was delicious. I've been trying to portion control it…I suck at wasting food…cannot stand to do it. 🙂
We are so excited about Florida!
The food looks delicious! Thanks for linking up with me last week, hope to see you this week! I'll be pinning this look to the Linkup Board.
