What’s Up Wednesday – 11.30.22

What’s up Wednesday! Today I’m linking up with ShaySheaffer.  You can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun.  I’m also linking up with Amy for Style on the Go!

Let’s go…..

What We’re Eating

Cheesy Bread

I like to try something new for my food loving family so when I saw this cheesy pull apart bread on Erin O’brien’s instagram (exact reel with recipe linked here), I knew I wanted to try it. Y’all, it was so easy and literally this was gone before I could even serve our Thanksgiving meal. I pulled it out of the oven and everyone dove in and devoured it. If you don’t follow Erin, she has so many amazing recipes that look super fancy but are actually simple to make and she typically posts all on her blog but this one wasn’t there when I looked.

Instant pot mac and cheese
Instant Pot Mac & Cheese

This instant pot mac and cheese from The Salty Marshmallow was a favorite on our Thanksgiving table. I’ve made it before but this time I traded the mozzarella cheese for gruyere instead as I had read somewhere the mozzarella can be stringy. It was so darn good and the only side dish that was all gone! It is so quick and easy.

What I’m Reminiscing About

Unshelf Your Elf

While my elf days are over, I still love seeing how we brought our Elf on the Shelf to life! I was very proud of this one….ran back in the house and set this up as we left town for Thanksgiving one year and the kids were so excited when we returned. It was a magical time!

Fall is always full of birthdays, football season, and holidays so my timehop has literally been flooded with pictures of my mom and me. Gosh we seriously had so much fun together and I love seeing these pictures to remind me. If I am patient enough and put my emotions aside, I still am able to find this happy lady in there somewhere.

What I’m Loving

The cooler temps (mostly), hot chocolate in the evenings, Christmas movies and twinkly lights!

What We’ve Been Up To

We celebrated Thanksgiving of course with all my little turkeys. November has been a bit of a blur for one reason or another and I really just didn’t take too many pictures at all.

What I’m Working On

Pulling together our outfits for family pictures which have now been rescheduled twice! You would think that would mean I had this nailed down but I’m obviously a last minute gal.

What I’m Watching/Reading

Fall Book Review #goodreads

I shared my fall book review yesterday so check it out to see what I’ve been reading!

Advent Resources. I Love

I also shared advent resources I love each year last Friday. Having something to read or listen to daily has really helped me stay focused on the real reason we have hope at Christmas.

What I’m Listening To

I am loving having this Christmas jazz playing in the background at work!

What I’m Wearing

What I'm Wearing
Sweater Dress | Boots

Okay, first of all can we talk about the fact that I had zero clue how dirty my mirror was until I saw these pictures!! Goodness gracious. I bought this sweater dress last year but it is back! It is so soft and cozy and I’m obsessed with how it looks with my new boots! Carly Jo wanted these and when I saw they were on sale I grabbed a pair for myself. This is typically how my Christmas shopping goes!

What I'm Wearing #fallstyle
Cardigan | Mock Turtleneck | Jeans | Boots (similar)

Cardigans are always tricky for me. I want them to have a little more structure and not hang to wide if that makes sense. This one checked all of my boxes which includes being heavy enough to provide some warmth but not too heavy for our Texas fall. I also grabbed a couple of lightweight mock turtlenecks for layering and am loving them! This one comes in several colors and I grabbed the ivory and red. And lastly, these jeans are so flattering! I grabbed them during the Nsale but they are currently on sale 30% off. While still an investment ($99), they are great quality and will last a really long time.

What I'm Wearing #fallstyle
Top | Pants | Booties (similar)

I’m crushing on these new pants in this wine color. You know here in Aggieland we are obsessed with all things maroon so I knew I had to try them. I really feel like they are so versatile and can be dressed up or down. I’ve paired them with this top that, if you follow me on Instagram, you are probably tired of seeing but I have been wearing it nonstop. It is such a great fit and looks darling with everything I’ve paired it with thus far. This velvet top also comes in a great teal color if black isn’t your thing.

What I'm Wearing #fallstyle

I was gifted these jeans from Coldwater Creek and, y’all, they have a stretchy waist band! They are so comfortable and I love the color (they come in several). The Chelsea boots are also so comfortable and were roomy enough for thicker socks. I paired with a simple white tee they also sent me and it is nice and thick and doesn’t show through.

What I’m Doing this Weekend

Our football team is still going strong in playoffs so we will be headed to Pflugerville on Saturday to watch this girl perform at halftime!

What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

The Good Old Days

Christmas, duh! It takes some intention from me not to get into a rut as the holidays approach. I miss my daddy and, to be honest even with my mom present physically, it can be depressing if I let it. To combat this, I really try to focus on the gift of the season and find the light wherever I can. I’m trying to find contentment and joy in every day and wrote a few thoughts about knowing you are in the good old days while you are in them last week!
