What’s Up Wednesday – 10.26.22
What’s up Wednesday! Today I’m linking up with Shay& Sheaffer. You can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun. I’m also linking up with Amy for Style on the Go!
Let’s go…..
What We’re Eating
Do you fry your eggs in bacon grease? This was one of the biggest fights my first husband and I ever had as I had grown up with this and he clearly had not. One thing I’ve learned from the macro program I’ve been using is when you are planning bacon into a meal, you have already accounted for the fat in the bacon so you might as well use it to fry the eggs!
A new thing I’m trying to pay attention to is the glycemic index of items and I was happy to see that the Ezekiel bread I already love was on the low side. Topping it with avocado and everything but the bagel seasoning or making a bacon, egg and avocado sandwich is my favorite right now!
What I’m Reminiscing About
Every year when this picture comes across my timehop it makes me so happy! Seems like yesterday but they sure have all grown up a ton in a short 7 years!
What I’m Loving
Turning 53! I love the way I feel about myself on the inside and outside and wrote a little birthday post about it…..this is 53 and I’m embracing it!
What We’ve Been Up To
We got our fall feels by taking our littlest pumpkin to the pumpkin patch!
We got our 90s country on by heading to House of Blues with our besties to see Tracy Lawrence perform. It was so good!!
HOCO is always a fun time and I love seeing the girls get dressed up!
We celebrated FIVE birthdays this month! Jordan and Taylor share a birthday on the 6th and then Riley, Keith and I celebrate over 3 consective days on the 18th-20th. It’s always a marathon but I LOVE every second.
And we are still spending every Friday under the lights watching this girl dance…oh…and cheering on the football team!
What I’m Watching/Reading
I’m not really sure how I feel about this book yet. One thing I know for certain is I could 100% never be a medical professional due to HIPAA.
I did manage to finish The Hotel Nantucket because I just kept thinking it was going to get better. This book was definitelly a flop for me.
What I’m Listening To
I’ve had Taylor Swift’s new album on repeat in the background at work for several days. So far I’m loving Anti-hero the most but I think it’s also becuase of all the instagram reels using that clip!
What I’m Wearing
I’ve shown you this athleisure dress from Old Navy before in black, but before my trip to Lake Tahoe I ordered it in this teal. I love it! I’ve managed to find a way to take it into fall by adding a flannel shirt and my chelsea boots! It’s taken years but I’m finally feeling comfortable enough to wear a hat out in public too!
I’m still not sure I love the cropped flare on me, but I have this thing about price per wear so I’m going to make sure I get my moneys worth! Even though these are denim, the style and color makes them easy to dress up for work. I do love how a pointy toe shoe works with the flare.
And this dress is an oldie that I have never thought to wear in the fall until I saw one of my daughters friends pair it with tall boots. It was instant love when I popped these boots on! I grabbed these during last years Nsale and they are a splurge but have been totally worth it for me. Similar pair here and here from the same brand.
In the past, I would have definitely felt like I had to have a brand new outfit to head to a concert if it wasn’t my normal. Instead, this time I pulled together this look in about 15 minutes! The power of thinking just slightly out of the box and using the top from a two piece set, adding some fun boots and then grabbing some fun (really, really old) accessories made me feel so pulled together. I loved this look so much! Not everyone loves a light denim but these flares are so soft and comfortable that I can forgive the fact that they may not be as slimming as my dark pair.
What I’m Doing this Weekend
One of my best friends from college is coming to town and Carly & I are going with her to the Aggie game. It’s always a fun time when she is here so I’m looking forward to it.
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Not sure I’m looking forward to it….but we DO have family pictures booked! We were initially booked for this weekend until I found out my hubby had booked a hunting trip and failed to tell me the dates. So I’ll be on the hunt for some family pic outfits and then cross my fingers that everyone shows up in a good mood!
That’s alot of what I’m up to….what’s up with you?
