What’s Up Wednesday – 09.28.22
What’s up Wednesday! Today I’m linking up with Shay& Sheaffer. You can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun. I’m also linking up with Amy for Style on the Go!
Let’s go…..
What We’re Eating
My body has been craving healthy fats and I’ve been on an avocado toast binge! I’ve been trying to choose items with a lower glycemic index and Eziekiel bread is one of my faves. I’ve been having this combo topped with Everything but the Bagel seasoning for the last two weeks!
My fave healthy fats are avocados and peanut butter so to save room for those in my daily macros I’ve switched to Bolthouse dressings. Finding this one was a win! It is so good with a taco salad combo but I’ve also used it in a cauliflower rice bowl. So far the salsa ranch the the blue cheese (mixed with franks hot sauce) are my favorites.
If you are looking for a really good low carb flatbread, this one is delicious. It is a little pricey and you have to order directly from the company, but I split an order with a friend to try and they are so good! I’ve mainly used them to either make myself some chips or too make a quesadilla but there are tons of ways to use them and their instagram has lots of ideas.
What I’m Reminiscing About
Fall is always full of football but it’s definitely rare to have the whole gang together. It’s really hard to believe that this sweet memory was only 10 years ago!
And look at these two…..then above and now two weeks ago! Same sweet smiles. Colby actually attends school at UTSA and Dillon is attending junior college this year but they grew up going to Aggie games together and it was a fun reunion.
What I’m Loving
Fall temperatures! It may just be a mini taste of fall but we have been having crisp mornings this week with dryer air and it feels so much nice after a really long and hot summer.
What We’ve Been Up To
I try to keep up with our weekly happenings with The Queen’s Chronicles, but here are a few highlights!
I had a girls getaway to Lake Tahoe with one of my besties and we are both dying to go back! The sunsets on the lake were so incredible.
We helped Carly paint her junior parking spot!
We enjoyed an Aggie football game with these two cuties!
We celebrated Carly Jo turning 17 with a family dinner!
I’ve been to 3 pep rallies and 4 football games to watch this girl do her thing! Last week the girls performed the Bob & Sue dance at halftime with a “bob” of their choice and these two did great!
What I’m Working On
Planning our trip to Hawaii in March. Carly will be going with her drill team and Keith & I are tagging along. The first half of the trip is already planned by a travel agency but I need to finish booking the second half.
What I’m Watching/Reading
Yesterday I posted my September Book Review and I gave at least 4 stars to four of these! I’ve been trying to read Hotel Nantucket and have really struggled to get into it.
What I’m Listening To
Last week I participated in a dementia workshop hosted by Dementia Success Path. It was so helpful if for no other reason than to know that we are not alone and all the behavior we are seeing is definitely part of the disease. You can follow along with Krista on Instagram too where she shares so much helpful information.
What I’m Wearing
We finally have some fall like weather at least in the mornings! I’m loving this easy black maxi that arrived in my last Stitch Fix and topping it off with my fave denim jacket of course.
I grabbed this dress to try with the prime try before you buy option on Amazon and fell in love as soon as I paired it with these white booties! It’s the perfect little fall dress for Texas as it is lighweight but still in a fun pattern for fall. The sleeves are my favorite with just the right amount of puff. I grabbed my booties on sale last fall and they are a little pricey so here is a “save” option as well.
This look is one of my favorites to pull together because it is so easy. Black jeans are a must for me because I can get away with wearing them to the office! My shoes are several years old but every time I wear them I question why I don’t wear them more. Here is a similar pair.
What I’m Doing this Weekend
More Friday night lights with an out of town game and then more than likely another trip to my mom’s house.
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
October is a BIG birthday month as not only is it my own birthday but four other members of our family also have birthdays! This typically means I will have all my kids together at the same time at least once which always makes me happy.
That’s alot of what I’m up to….what’s up with you?
