What’s Up Wednesday – 04.28.21
What’s up Wednesday! Today I’m sharing some looks and co-hosting the Style Six linkup with my sweet blog besties. I’m also linking up with Shay& Sheaffer. You can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun.
Let’s go…..
What We’re Eating
We are one week into replacing our kitchen floors and having our pantry reconfigured so we have been rotating all our fave restaurants for dinner. So hoping to have my kitchen back in order by the weekend.
Typically Keith & I both take our lunch from home each day and I’ve also been having to run out and grab lunch. Bonus, I found this new Lemony Kale Caesar Salad at Chick-Fil=A and I’m obsessed! It is so light and perfect for spring!
What I’m Reminiscing About
If I’m being honest, I’m reminising about how much easier it was to raise little kids! I always heard it said “the bigger the kid the bigger the problems” and I wondered what they meant. Some of the hardest parenting I’ve ever done is to my 18+ children. Working on learning to only hold what is mine to hold but it is a tough one. As a mom it’s hard not to take on all the feelings and it can be exhausting!
What We’ve Been Up To
The month kicked off with Stutter tryouts for Carly Jo and we were so excited to find out she made the team! I can’t wait to see her perform next year. She also had two dance competitions this month and it’s been fun seeing all the routines come together they have worked so hard on all year.
Jordan and I headed off for a mother daughter adventure and spent some time hiking Inks Lake state park and went on a tour of Longhorn Caverns. We also stopped for a little lunch in Georgetown and fun mural and some delicious food.
Not sure how it’s possible but our Haisley Grace is 11 months old and will celebrate her first birthday in May! She is incredibly busy and hard to photograph these days so I have more videos than still shots but this is a true capture of her expression as she’s working on standing in this chair when she knows she’s not suppose to. Ha!
What I’m Working On
Putting the finishing touches on our trip to Las Vegas. Southwest has made the first change to our flights and between that and a fluctuating competition schedule our fun time is having to be shifted around. I’m excited, but reallly wanting things to be set!
What I’m Excited About
Putting my kitchen back together! I’ve ordered some items for pantry organization so I hope to find what works best in the new space. I will also be purging anything we absolutely don’t want taking up space any longer. Can’t wait to have it all functioning the way I’ve envisioned and hoping I can pull it together on my own. Here is a sneak peak of the floors and pantry in progress.
I’m so excited about the counter top and having some outlets installed! Hoping to move a few appliances like the toaster, the Nutribullet and the coffee grinder off my kitchen counter! It will all be painted white with a stained counter top. Can’t wait to show you the finished pics!
What I’m Watching/Reading
I real some amazing books in April and hope to have a full review up soon! All I can say is it’s very possible that The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah will be my favorite book of the year. I have never enjoyed a historical fiction book before but decided to try this one and it slayed me. So many tears as this book ended!
Typically when I’m deciding what to read next I will download the sample. Currently I’m trying out Still Me and After the Rain. I really want to get to our local library and renew my library card so I can begin checking out books instead of being lazy and downloading without considering the cost. 🙂
What I’m Listening To
I listen to Annie’s podcast often but this last weekend I listened to her interview with Lauren Daigle and I’m just telling you, listen! It is so full of precous nuggets and lots of hope especially if you have encountered times of feeling depressed and/or unmotivated over the last year. I will listen to this one a second time I feel certain!
What I’m Wearing
All the spring pieces! Our temps have still been fluctiating a bit so I’ve been pulling out my spring pieces to layer with jackets and such. I love how this look came together with my white denim.
Love adding a few spring dresses to my closet and this sundress is perfect for our Texas climate. Always a bonus when there are pockets! My sandals always receive so many compliments and I love a little pattern mixing. While they are from last year, I did find this pair of sandals I think are too cute.
And I shared my full Stitch Fix spring box last week but this little dress was the one item I decided to keep. Can’t wait to wear it soon.
What I’m Doing this Weekend
Besides digging out from all the dust, we will be headed to watch the Strutter showcase as the incoming class for next year will be introduced and perform one dance.
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Haisley’s 1st birthday, three dance recitals and the end of the school year! This year we have a four day weekend for Memorial Day and I’m hoping to make some plans soon!
I love your spring outfits! I have four winds on my reading list.
