What’s Up Wednesday – 04.27.22
What’s up Wednesday! Today I’m linking up with Shay& Sheaffer. You can find the questions in pink so check it out and join the fun. I’m also linking up with Amy for Style on the Go!
Let’s go…..
What We’re Eating
Last month I mentioned I’ve been counting macros so I was so excited when Eat to Evolve asked me to collaborate and try their meals. They come with all the nutritional info and the macros already split out for you. I’ve received two different shipments and have found some mostly delicous, easy to prepare wins! A couple of the meals I tried weren’t for me but the majority have been amazing. If you are interested in giving Eat to Evolve a try you can use the code IN BETWEEN with this link for 20% off yoour first order.
What I’m Reminiscing About
Are y’all tired of hearing about how much I miss my mom when she’s actually still alive? I sure do miss these easy silly times that pop up in my timehop. Eight years just wasn’t that long ago and she was still traveling around to watch sporting events and being silly with me. I miss this version of my momma!
What We’ve Been Up To
Celebrated my oldest daughter, Jordan, as she was awarded the Marketing Professional of the Year for the Houston Association of Marketing Professionals. So proud of her!
Keith and I had a fun weekend away in Austin doing a little ziplining at Lake Travis, sleeping late and eating some great food.
I had my entire family together at one time over Easter weekend and that is always such a HUGE treat for this mom. Nothing I love more than having all of my babies all together.
We celebrated all the hard work this girl has put in all year at her Strutter Showcase over the weekend! You can jump back and see all the fun pics from this weeks Queen’s Chronicles.
What I’m Working On
A little blog redesign and a new logo for this space and also rethinking my newsletter format. Finding time to work on this little hobby always seems to be the biggest struggle but I still am finding joy here so I want to make it as functional as possible.
What I’m Watching/Reading
Yesterday I dropped my April book review and it’s full of some good reads! I was on a bit of a fiction kick the last month.
Grabed this book after a friend suggested it. It’s never a bad idea to continue to grow your marriage and every once in awhile I need some good reminders. Finding the Hero in Your Husband definitely sounded like it was perfect for my morning reading.
What I’m Listening To
I jump around alot where podcasts are concerned but I’ve been loving the Habits series on the Going Scared podcast with Jess Honegger. Most recently I loved this episode on the Habits of Social Drinking and her interview with Amanda White. It definitely gives you lots of tidbits to think about the role alcohol may play in your life.
I’ve also been listening to Feeding the Soul by Tabitha Brown on my daily walks. While no big earth shattering takeaways in this book, I love hearing someones story and her voice is so pleasant. It’s been a listen that has brought some smiles to my face.
What I’m Wearing
In love with this animal print top that came in my most recent Stitch Fix! I love everything about it and have already worn it multiple times but so far my fave is with my white jeans which I’m so happy to be fitting into again. The sleeve detail and the color sold me on this one and it is such a great fit with a cute tie detail in the back. Did you know you can shop pieces from Stitch fix directly now and don’t actually have to order a box? This top comes in two other colors and you can find it here.
Clearly my closet was needing a refresher where tops are concerned and I’ve been ordering quite a few to try. Finding easy tops that work well for work but can also be tossed on with jeans or shorts for the weekend are a plus. Love the fun sleeve detail on this one!
If you are looking for a fun top for the weekend or date night, I also loved this one! Still on the fence whether I want to keep the top or the dress in this style. You will have to tell me what you think.
Finding a pair of denim shorts that checks all the boxes for me is always a win but often easier said than done. This year was no exception but this pair is a huge splurge. I typically can justify when it comes to denin shorts because I will wear them every single chance I get untiil probably November! The price per wear method is my only way to justify! This white top on the other hand was a great Target find!
I shared these three Target spring dresses last week and they are all so darling. The white dress is a for sure keeper and I wore it for Easter. The other two I’m stll debating on. The black ruffle dress I ordered in the next size just to see if it would then be wearable without any spanx. I ordered the animal print in the light chambray just to see which felt more versatile in my closet. All are fun and I just need to make a good choice for what really is “needed” in my spring/summer wardrobe.
What I’m Doing this Weekend
This weekend we are celebrating Miss Haisley turning 2 a little early! I can’t wait to see what her mom and dad have pulled together for her party and it’s hard to believe a year has already passed since she was One in a Melon! Can’t wait to share it all with you next week. Two is definitely so much fun and watching her little personality continue to develop brings us so much joy.
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Dillon’s baseball team will start regional play next weekend! We will take it a week at a time but if they win regionals and super regionals we will head to Grand Junction Colorado at the end of the month for the Juco World Series! So fun! Also ready for the end of the school year to be upon us.
That’s alot of what I’m up to….what’s up with you?
