What’s in a {Blog} Name?

I found out about this fun little linkup from Katie at Hot Tea and the Empty Seat.  You can read all about how she came up with her blog name here.  I love finding a good blog with a catchy name and always wonder about the deeper meaning.  Well Kiki at In Its Time Blog has a monthly linkup, the circle, and for March it is all about sharing our blog name stories.  So fun!  Head on over and check it out.

THE CIRCLE LINK-UP

And me?  How did I come up with my blog name?  I created my first blog in the summer of 2008. Finding a name for a blog when you have a blended family is not so easy….especially when you lean toward the not so creative side of the brain!  Literally it was titled “The Janac/Ferrell Family Blog”. Yes, really.  Just for fun I took a look back at the total of 19 posts I made on that blog and came to the conclusion we have all grown up a lot in 7 years!
Early in 2013 I found several bloggers through Instagram and Facebook and I became totally addicted to reading blogs.  When I was younger I really enjoyed writing and started jotting down some ideas here and there.  I was literally sitting on a plane on my way to NYC and the name finally came to me.  I was always thinking of myself as the Queen of my little family and not only am I constantly running “in between” activities there are so many other things in my life I have always felt pulled in between.  Thus the Queen in Between blog was born!  It took me 6 months to finally get the guts to write my first post and I am still trying to get my bearings but I never dreamed how much fun it would be.  Curious about all the “in betweens” I jotted down?
Hopefully someday I will find all the words I need to write about all these fun topics!  For now I have only crossed a few off the list.
I’m sure there may come a day when this title no longer fits my little life but for now I feel it is just about perfect!  How did you decide on your blog name?  Does it still fit or have you changed the name over time?
Also partying with a few other fun bloggers who I’m sure have fun stories about how they chose their names too!  You can see who I’m linked with here!

  1. What a great post and I love all of your "In Betweens" and your blog name!

I came up with mine on a whim because I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to write about and I knew it would be hodge podge of various things. "Much Ado" means a lot of fuss or a lot of bother and then my … means, well, anything I want it to mean 🙂 So, a lot of fuss or both about … Story of my life! Happy Thursday!

  2. I dont blog but I am also addicted to reading blogs and yours ranks right up there with my Top Ones!!! I feel a kinship more to you then the others in that our ages are close, we have second marriages, college kiddos, (I don't have littles though) and I love your style and how you wear it all so well! I am a size 14 but working my way to a size 10! Hopefully by the end of the year!!! Thanks for having such a fun blog to read every day!

  3. Love hearing your story! Isn't it fun to hear how our blogs got their names? I used to have a different name for my blog "A Day in the Life of Karen" and then changed it to Karen At Home when I started adding recipes and home decor topics. Basically everything you do from home 🙂

  4. I loved hearing and reading all of your "in betweens!" I actually really love that concept and just the significance it has in your life and your blog. It's been so cool to read everyone's blog name stories and I am so glad you linked up so I could meet you, too! 🙂

Thanks for joining The Circle this month!

  5. I love the title of your blog and your list of in betweens. My blog was originally called "Ladybug and Honeybear" since those were my nicknames for the kids when they were little. As they got older, I wanted to change the title. When we moved to England, Grace came up with the name "The Other Side of the Road." It really described our life over there for those three years…driving on the other side of the road, as well as living a little differently than we did in the US. Even though we've moved back now, I still like the title. 🙂 Have a good week!

    1. Thanks Tanya! I loved hearing how you came up with your title….and I definitely think it still fits your family. Hope you guys had a super vacation!
