What’s in Your Bag – Show & Tell Tuesday
It’s been a bit since I’ve joined in with some Show & Tell Tuesday fun but showing off my favorite bag and dishing on the contents was an easy way to get my mind back to blogging! So, today I’m joining Andrea at Momfessionals and dumping my bag!
I grabbed this striped tote early last spring and have been so incredible happy with it. It has held up so well, easy to clean and as you will see holds a ton! 
Plus look how adorable it is on the inside! I’ve put this sucker to the test as you can see. I initially needed a bag to hold my 15″ Macbook and while I had other totes that could squeeze my computer in they did not leave much room for all my other junk. Who wants to carry a tote AND a purse? Not me! 
Most days I need to carry my laptop with me so having a tote big enough to comfortable carry is important. My Outlook calendar is definitely my online go to for keeping track of things but I still love writing things down. This planner I grabbed at Michaels on super clearance has been perfect and has plenty of pages for taking notes too. If I go this route again I will by a size smaller. While I don’t need traditional glasses, I do have a pair of computer glasses which have made a huge difference in reducing eye strain when I’m on the computer all day. Of course my keys are always at the very bottom of my bag!

I love using little bags like this embroidered clutch to hold a few things like markers and such. In a pinch I can toss in a credit card and my phone if I need to make a quick dash into the store instead of lugging around the entire bag. I always, always put the big bag in the trunk as to not entice anyone to break into my car!
Of course I also have some “junk” to round out the purse. I’m super proud to say I’ve made it 7 months without losing or breaking my Ray Bans and having my case handy has been key! I’m not sure why the heck I carry my name tag around except it has a magnet which works nicely to keep track of my nail clippers and tweezers! Plucking my eyebrows in the car is one of my favorite things to do. You would be surprised how much easier it is in natural light to see what you are doing. I’m the kind of mom that typically notices how awful my kids nails are right before we are heading into somewhere important so having these clippers handy is a big plus.
If you love a good top knot, an empty Tic Tac container is perfect for holding bobby pins and I just add a few pony tail holders around it to always be prepared to throw my hair up.
Still on the fence about Lipssense but it is my current lipstick of choice. I love the way it makes my lips feel but it is more time consuming to apply and, honestly, I have not found it to last all day like some have. Still, I am a firm believer that life is better with lipstick and mascara so some sort of lipstick will always be in my purse!
Not going to lie, I totally cleaned up my act to show you this organized version of my tote! I try to re-organize at least every two weeks to keep on top of the circus this all becomes. Now you know all my dirty littles secrets!

I ADORE your bag. So stinking cute. Putting the hair ties around the Tic Tac container is a genius idea too. With three girls in this house, it NEVER feels like we have enough of them to go around.

Love this! I carry around a lot of stuff in my bag too! And I also carry around my Ray-Bans case because I am not breaking those suckers!

Ugh…planners and me! I love having one, love writing things down….now if I will just open it up during the week and read it. haha
I use an organizer for my purse! And my most favorite totes/purses of all are the Barrington Bags. I have 3!! Love love love them! The leather on is my #1 and so soft and buttery …….. I could just eat it up! LOL
I still haven’t ventured out to the Barrington Bags. I came so close to ordering one last year but never pulled the trigger.
I haven’t bought any new ones in 2 years. But I’m always looking for my next one. I put them on my wish lists for Christmas and bday and Mother’s Day. Now I want a cross body one
Yes! Life is better with mascara and lipstick! Cheers to that!!

Lol….it’s just one more thing you risk falling in love with Andrea! Every time something new comes out I ask myself if I really want to risk something else I can’t live without. Haha
I’ve always loved your black and white striped bag! Hahaha!! You are so right…plucking your eyebrows in the car is the easiest, most effective way to see them and my kids are (were😔) constantly asking me for clippers so I have a pair in the car and my purse. Putting your hair ties on a tic tac case is such a great idea! I’d been dying to try Lipsense and on this last trip to Nashville my friend and I were in a store that sold it (a little boutique) and you could try it. I’m so happy we tried and I didn’t just order it…it’s not for me. Honestly, the Kat Von D that Sephora carries stays on so great and I like it’s not sticky and doesn’t require a top coat and remover. Too much work for this chick! Thanks for sharing your bag Shelly. I’m gonna’ do “the dump” of mine for tomorrow. (an advantage to running late with my blog in the morning was finding out she’d postponed it a day😉)
I may have to try the Kat Von D. I do like lipsense for how well it has kept my lips from chapping and peeling but I honestly have not found “all day color” at all with it. And yes…it’s too time consuming for this momma.
haha, I am sporting a black and white tote too! Sadly I did a what’s in my bag last year and I was going to link that up, and realized, I am still using the same bag and have the same exact things in it! Yikes, need to get my act in gear and change things up a bit! And yes to the nail clippers, I do the same thing, except I’m not smart like you and don’t have one in my bag. I do have a nail file, so that always works in a pinch.
Lol….Sarah you crack me up! I’m NOT a purse girl so having more than one purse for me is odd. I have several fun clutches but who the heck has time to change their purse every day?!!

What a fun post! I love seeing what everyone carries in their bag. I always have lipstick in mine too. I haven’t tried lipsense yet but I have been thinking about it although I’m hesitant to make the investment.Great idea about the tic tac container holding bobby pins!

Pretty sure I’m just too lazy to continue with the lipsense even though I honestly do think it’s a game changer as far as keeping my lips soft. We will see….may have to try a fall color soon.

Lana the computer glasses really have made a big difference for me. Some days I don’t need them but I can definitely tell when I do that they help a ton.

Laura, I may have you slightly fooled! I definitely cleaned up my act a bit first. I do try to stay a bit organized or I’d lose my mind but believe me I have my fair share of crumbled up receipts, gum wrappers and random kid crap in my purse most days. Hope you have a super weekend!
