Wearing Lately – Winter Looks
It’s super chilly here and in true Texas form when it’s raining and anywhere close to freezing we close down the state. We are just not aclimated to the cold weather and people do NOT know how to drive but based on what I’m seeing out my bedroom window, our area is not seeing any freezing rain. So, today, I will probably be wearing leggings and a cozy sweatshirt but thought I’d share what I’ve been wearing lately from my closet if you need some winter look inspiration!
I grabbed this striped button down months ago from Loft but had just not found a way to wear it that II loved. Saw another influencer, Jess Dreyfuss, style a similar shirt underneath a tan blazer and it reminded me, yes, you can wear grey, black and brown together! This look was born and I loved it! My tan sweater blazer has been a staple in my closet for several years and I have it in black as well. I’ve had these black flare jeans for several years but they are still available as well and have just enough stretch and are under $50.
Normally I wear a cuter shoe with these jeans but these boots are weather proof which was necessary yesterday when I pulled this together. The jeans are super flattering and were a splurge during the anniversary sale but here is a similar pair that is much cheaper. A dark wash jean is a must in my closet as I feel I can dress them up and get away with a business casual look at work. J. Crew Factory has carried these lightweight sweaters for as long as I can remember and I always have at least one color in my closet. They are great for layering with a button down underneath or topped with a flannel.
This sweater is also several years old but still stocked in lots of colors because it’s that good. Today it’s a deal on Amazon for $22 in this color. I’m not really sure that over the knee boots like this are still in style but I had not worn mine all year and decided it was a chance I was willing to take!
This combo made me so happy! I’m not sure why I had not considered these pieces together before. I love having a pair of coated denim in my closet to dress up for work, for a girls night out or for date night. They just level the outfit up a little. Mine are from last year but here are all the coated denim pieces from this brand. I never in a million years thought I’d wear white booties as much as I do but these are just about worn out. Of course a button down chambray shirt is always a staple in my closet and who doesn’t love a cardigan!
On the agenda today will be a little work, a little reading and I see a new soup recipe in my future! Stay cozy and cute!
