Wearing Lately
It’s been a minute since I’ve shared what I’m wearing lately with you. After putting on some weight in places I wasn’t familiar with (thanks menopause!), things got a little weird in my closet. It’s been a little bit of a struggle to learn how to dress my shape in a way that makes me feel confident. All that to say, I haven’t felt so much like shopping for new clothes or showing off my style.
Fall is one of my favorites and layers are my friend so I’ve definitely been loving my closet a little more and have even added a few fun pieces. Here is a quick look at a few things I’ve been wearing lately.
Old pieces like this field jacket are my favorite to pull out each year. This one has been in my closet for prooobably 4-5 years but it’s so good that it’s still available. I have it in two colors I love it so much! This was my first time styling with the sweater dress I grabbed last year but it has been paired with one of my favorite scarves tons of times. I have learned that adding a skinny belt completes this look and gives a little structure too the look. I love this so much and felt so comfortable in this look that I’m thinking of grabbing this sweater dress in cream too!
Plaid is always a favorite in the fall and this plaid button down one has a holiday feel too me. I layered with a new cardigan that I was pleasantly surprised with as it is much nicer in person than it looks online. It is sold out in this color but I’ve linked what is available. And of course, my bootcut jeans always draw compliments. I struggle a bit with figuring out what shoes to wear with these jeans for some reason! If you are looking for a black bootcut mine are old but this pair has a 4.5 star review and they are PULL ON and under $50!! They really look best with a pointy toe and that is just not something I have a ton of anymore. My fave Frye boots pulled this look together and this time of year I am wearing them a ton.
Shackets are EVERYWHERE and I finally grabbed one for my closet. Note to self….no more navy plaid! I love it but I really need to toss a top or two as I have several other plaids I navy! I found this one at Gracie James Boutique in my hometown and I love the buttons that set it apart a bit. I also FINALLY stopped the suffering and ordered jeans in a size up and man oh man was that a game changer! KUT from Kloth jeans have been my favorite recently as they are finally coming long enough for me and I’m loving these.
Another unexpected win was this darling sweater from Amazon. While it does have a turtle neck, it is a lighter weight so I’m not dying in this Texas wanna be fall weather. Seriously…it’s going to be 80 today on December 15th!! It comes in several colors too! My leggings have also been a favortie for years and I always grab a new pair when they are on sale.
This look came together unexepectedly using this new blazer that is so fabulous from Walmart. I’m still so thrilled my friend Kellyann coudn’t shut up about it when we were in Nashville and influenced me to buy it!! Y’all, it’s $22 and SO good.
Of course I’ve also been wearing some holiday looks and I will do my best to capture some pictures of the fun pieces for you next week! I have a full day today of holiday happenings and can’t wait to get dressed! Hope you are finding some joy in the holiday season.
