Walking on Sunshine – Style Six
It’s Wednesday and we are half way through another week whatever that means these days! Maybe this current situation in our world doesn’t feel too sunny but when I grabbed this yellow cardigan and tossed it on it sure made me feel like I was walking on sunshine! Putting together a fun outfit can bring some light to my day and yellow is always just such a happy color.
You know what else brings sunshing to my day? Joining my Style Six sisters to bring you this fun linkup each week. Grab your favorite look and join us! While your at it leave me a comment and share what you are doing to bring sunshine to your days!
I’ve often found it’s hard in the midst of a storm to be able to see the beauty waiting for us on the other side. It may be something obvious like a new appreciation for the extra time we had to spend being still or it may be a new found realization of just waht a prcious gift life really is.
My normal is never this slow. In fact I rarely sit down when I do find myself at home. This time has given me a chance to pause and while that has created a little anxiety at times, it has also brought some clarity about a few things. It’s also rekindled a love I once had for a few things and I thought I’d share some of the sunshine with you today!
- Watching TV is something I really do enjoy. Maybe it’s the sitting next to Keith while I’m watching that I really love but this is not something I typically make time for. We have watched a lot of TV!
- With a 90 mile commute one way, Keith is often only home each night for a few hours before heading to bed. He has now been home by 5 pretty much every day and it has given us a chance to cook together and walk each evening. I already know I’m going to miss this so much!
- Being creative calms my soul and brings me so much joy. My front room is covered in scrapbooking supplies and I don’t even care! We have created Easter cards for assisted living residents, made cards for friends and family and done some actual scrapbooking.
- Rolling out of bed in my pj’s and not having to curse at my kids to get them rolling for church has been nice. We all snuggled on the couch to live stream instead. I miss being in the midst of others, physcially in church but this has also been nice.
- For years I’ve been thinking I want a job I can do from home. This time has shown me I may not really be cut out for that. I feel like this is a hidden blessing and I’ll be so much ore appreciative of my work environment when this is over.
- I waste alot of time “running errands”. It’s been amazing to me how much time I have at home now that I can’t leave home. It really did make me realize it’s not that I don’t have enough time it’s definitely how I’m choosing to use my time. Hoping I’ve learned a little and won’t return to my old ways!
- I’ve picked up the phone and actually called old friends instead of just texting and I remembered how much I love catching up and resminiscing that way!
Have you had any unexpected sunshine arise through this storm? Are you still in the trenches and unable to see any light coming through? Let me know how you are doing!!
