Y’all, it has been such an great 5 days! I took Wednesday off and seriously have enjoyed being lazy each morning. I was able to knock out some online Christmas shopping and do some serious Netflixing which is so not me!! Here is a peek at our week!
So one thing I will not ever claim to be is a decorator or a hostess. I love having people over but I am better off in the kitchen doing the actual meal prep than setting a table. This year my sweet mother-in-law wanted to handle the dressing and so I had time on my hands. Also not something that works really well for me! Carly made these pom poms and we attempted a these little nameplates and even pulled out the china I inherited from my uncle.
I grabbed fresh flowers from the sore and separated into this arrangement and several mason jars for the other tables and I was feeling like I at least made my guest feel like I tried!
We celebrated with my kids, my mom and my mother-in-law. Loved having these peeps at my house!
Holly’s family also joined us! Every other year this has kind of become our tradition when the Aggies are playing in town. I love that our families can spend this special time together!
Isn’t her shirt adorable? And the arrow is pointing in the right direction….just sayin’. 🙂 We have been on the struggle bus lately trying to figure out how to stand in pictures. We were trying some different poses trying to get it right.
And almost died because as we went to face each other my mother-in-law says “now y’alls boobs are touching”. I almost peed my pants and my daughter caught this moment. I really hope in our old age we will have lots and lots of pictures like this and stop worrying so much about how we are posing.
Dutch thought he had hit the jackpot getting so much attention! Hope is just the cutest.
This girl has definitely been a huge part of my daughters smile this year! I am so glad they found each other.
Holden and Carly prepared a “show” for the guests complete with rules.
And then they basically just read us some jokes! Which Holden read from an age appropriate joke book.
And Carly Jo was looking up online! When she started in with a little Johnny joke I was a tad bit worried.
I headed to campus to do a little tailgating with my bigs. I love being able to have some time alone with just the two of them here and there. It was only a few years that it was just the 3 of us but I feel like it was a big 3 years.
And somehow I always get into trouble with them now that they are of age!
Love them so!
Only kind of black Friday shopping I was up for! THIS is one of my favorite Black Friday traditions…sitting in bed with my coffee and a piece of pumpkin pie ordering gifts online! Who am I kidding, my favorite part was scoring a few deals for myself.
Oh my….somehow Carly’s pictures are ending up all over my feed and this piece of goodness showed up! She has been complaining lately how she doesn’t have enough pictures of just her and her dad. She actually got up bright and early and headed to the deer stand with him on Saturday morning. I’m not sure she loved it as much as he did but she did not complain.
And oh my gosh….8 years y’all. Like a flash! I just love this brown eyed girl and remember this sweet day like it was yesterday.
Friday night i headed over to hang out with this girl and watch the Winter and Spring episodes of the Gilmore Girls release. I may have teared up a couple of times. But holy hell I had no idea what was coming for me in the Summer and Fall!! I’m seriously still dying.
Saturday night Holly and I headed to downtown Bryan to do a little sippin and shopping. We browsed around all the local shops and I didn’t buy too much but I sure had fun hanging out with this gal. We did find out there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to ever make a wine with coconut and lime flavors..yuck!
I’m not sure what this young man did with my son but I really need that little boy back!! Dillon has seriously been in heaven hanging out with his big brother. Riley has a friend who has been taking them duck hunting and as you can see Dillon is pretty darn happy about it!
I ended my weekend taking some pictures of these cutie pies!! Hopefully their mom doesn’t kill me for sharing this but I just had to!! They have been well trained for sure.
Back to the grind and some normalcy tomorrow but looking forward to two nights of Christmas party fun with my guy this coming weekend!
Hope heading back into the “real world” after a grateful holiday treats you all kindly.

Sounds like a wonderful week! We enjoyed some quiet time at home too; I haven't done much on-line shopping but definitely have a problem not buying for myself when I see something I like. I can never resist a bargain!
Haha – my thankful arrow was definitely pointing in the right direction! 😉 That picture of Dillon?! Perfection!!!
Ugh….I seriously do the same! I have done better this year but I definitely I grabbed a few things I've had my eye on.
Isn't that a great picture? I loved it!
How awesome that all four kids were back home for Thanksgiving. Looks like a wonderful break for you. The boob comment had me laughing too! You are on fire with your blog posts!! I have about 4 to catch up on reading. I need to get back into the groove. I had a horrible cough and then out of town, so my motivation is pretty low! Have a great week.
