The Queen’s Chronicles

So if you have been hanging around you will know I was a little cray cray this week due to a shower remodel.  The majority of the week was evidently not eventful enough for pictures unless you count the Day in the Life post or the Reality Bites Thursday chaos.  Good news is both bathroom showers have been completed and my house is mostly back in order!   Here’s what else has been going on around here!
We received a new trashcan on Tuesday and Carly Jo turned the big box into a book nook!  I guess you are never too old to play in boxes.
This was absolutely so precious!  My mother-in-law headed to Cali on Wednesday to visit a friend which was near enough she was also getting to see my boy.  Riley was tagged in a tweet by a guy who met Mary Jo on a flight.  If you knew my mother-in-law you would not be super surprised by this because she is definitely not a shy one and also gets very excited easily.  I just loved this!  She did make it to a game and Riley did come in to pitch so yea!

Snap chat….y’all…I had no idea this was what I needed to do to reconnect with my twenty something kids.  Finally I’m snapping and y’all….they aren’t so impressed with me screenshoting them but hey…I’ve got to do it to remind them it’s always a possibility right?

Plus, really, was I suppose to just let this gorgeous picture of my girl disappear off my phone forever without capturing it?!!  So if you are a snapper feel free to add me, user name queeninbetween1.  I promise I will NOT screenshot your snaps but will also not promise to be super entertaining though I try.  Ha!

Saturday we spent a large part of the morning watching Dillon play baseball and decided that deserved a run through Bahama Bucks for our first snow cone of the season.   Even Dutch got in on the action.  Carly had the Cherry Colada and I think that will be my pick next time.  I tried the blue coconut thin ice and let’s just say…I’m pretty sure a snow cone is not meant to be sugar free.
Probably one of my favorite text this week came from my friend Holly when she shared sweet Hopey’s spin on my white on white + denim combo.   Isn’t she just the cutest?

Saturday was just gorgeous and as much as I really needed to clean it was just too pretty to stay inside.  Carly was really wanting to plant something so we grabbed some herbs and some cow manure and headed to the house.

I love that she still wants to do little things like this with me!

I was even lucky enough to have Keith grabbed the camera and take a few pictures as we worked.

Of course mostly he just wanted to tell me what I was doing wrong!

There is just something so fun about getting your hands dirty in the spring time!  Dillon found us some earthworms too while he was busy weeding and putting out new mulch around our trees.

I’ve had several of these for four weeks (count them because it might be a record) and we finally repotted to give them a little room to grow.

Keith ran to the store and grabbed steaks and potatoes for the grill and I settled in for some wine and the Skinny Suppers book.

This was delicious!  I love this time of year when we can sit outside and enjoy our dinner.
We settled into bed just about the time Riley came in to pitch two innings and we were able to listen on the computer.  It is so much more stressful to me not to be able to see his face and demeanor but it will have to do.
Before I fell asleep I went to cut off all the lights and found this…Carly was sleeping like a baby in her box!

Saturday we headed over to a gender reveal party in Willis for some sweet cousins.  I was totally on team BOY!

The big sisters were in charge of the reveal and planned everything out so perfectly.  It was super cute!  And I was super wrong…..it’s a girl and we are all tickled pink!

When we got back to town my sis-in-law took Carly to see The Jungle Book so it was time to get serious about getting my house back in order so I started cleaning.   Seriously y’all…this is how many socks I found under the couches in my living room!!

At 9:01pm I opened the extra fridge in our garage and found this mess.  Gross!!  The fridge part has been out for awhile and I guess the freezer finally gave up too. Blek…I am not looking forward to cleaning this up.

But yea!  My room is all put back together with no more dust!

AND….I can see my closet floor again so bring it on Monday!!!

Hope you all had a super weekend!  Looking forward to a busy but blessed week.

  1. Your room looks a-MAY-zing!!! And, can we talk about that GORGEOUS picture of Jordan?! Wowzers! Looking forward to a fun week where I get to see you more than normal!!! Happy Monday!

  2. Very nice. I will be following your son in the Cal League. Hopefully I will be able to go to a Lancanster game when they play San Jose.

  3. Everytime you say your son plays I just think that is SO awesome! We don't have cable so we pretty much listen to the radio for every game haha and it is defintiely not easy to not be able to see it,I can't even imagine if I knew someone playing!

  4. Yay for both showers being finished and your room and closet back in order! We had our first snow cones of the season also this weekend – unfortunately, not Bahama Bucks, but still delish! Carly Jo and her box make me laugh! Have a great week! xx – Leah!

  5. It's so killing me to be so far away! Listening on the computer is just not quite the same. I really didn't think I was going to try and fly out but I've already started looking at what would be the best time to come. 🙂 Have a great day!
