The Queen’s Chronicles
Mimi was super surprised and loved it.
We enjoyed dinner at Fish Daddys to celebrate! Mimi loves nothing more than being surrounded by her family!
Sunday was spent celebrating Thanksgiving in Wharton with my Mamaw at her assisted living facility. These two girls were the only great grandchildren to make it this year.
Mamaw was in such a joyful mood and we had a great visit. I’m so thankful for my little brother who definitely has so much more responsibility for taking care of my Mamaw that I do. He has the hugest heart and never complains. I really cannot imagine losing all my children and two husbands and still getting up every day and caring to fix myself up but this spry almost 90 year old finds a way. I pray for her often and can only imagine the joy she will have some day when she will be reunited with her loved ones.
I arrived back to town in time to grab this one for a few errands and an unplanned dinner date. We sat at the bar and ate and had a few drinks and just really enjoyed not having any distractions.
Looking forward to a really short week! Hope you all have plans for lots of friends, family and yummy food this week!
Linking today with B Loved Boston and Grateful Heart Monday at Ember Grey!
That Mamaw of yours is really something special, she is so inspiring!
Good that you guys are able to help your mamaw a bit. What a busy week!
Love that you guys have already started to celebrate thanksgiving!! I'm sure your Mamaw loved seeing you all! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
We started our Thanksgiving celebration this weekend and I have to say the holidays are just the best!
Looks like a wonderful weekend filled with family. Every time I hear about your Mamaw, it breaks my heart. She must have a great spirit to still have a positive attitude, and I know she must be grateful to have you and your brother in her life! Have a happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
That sunflower cake is so beautiful!! Sunflowers were my FAVORITE flower growing up… my entire bedroom was decorated in them! And my best friend and I made a cake almost identical to this when we were about 13. I had forgotten all about it until I saw your post. Thanks for bringing up some wonderful memories for me today!
P.S. My best friend's name is Shelly, too. ;o)
Such sweet memories! Shelly's are the best right? 🙂
I know Tanya. It's hard for me to even imagine how horrific that would be to outlive all your children. Bless her heart…she can't cry either…like literally cannot.
I am sitting on my butt today with Carly home from school not feeling well. I keep feel all relaxed and every hour or so I start thinking I probably should make a grocery list or something lol. Thursday morning I'm sure I'll be a nut case!
Thankfully our weather is finally super pleasant just in time to host the family! Hope you have a super week Biana.
She's a mess Kellyann. She's definitely loved and lost a lot but she still gets up every day and fixes her face and wants to look nice.
Wishing you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving Sarita!
