The Queen’s Chronicles

·
Such a busy week full of special memories!
We started the week attending high school orientation!  I really don’t know where the years have gone but in just a few short months this boy will be in high school.  He’s ready….I think I am too.
If you didn’t read my interview with Carly Jo this week  you can find it here.  This girl is just such a hoot and keeps me on my toes.
You guys…January was so good but February has been a big fail so far.  I did not make it to the gym one day this week!  Tomorrow is a new day….time for improvement.
Dillon played his last basketball game on Thursday and I loved seeing this after the game!  You may not always win but teams who pray together will be successful.
I didn’t even make it to the grocery store this week so Friday it was a quick stop by Freebirds for a burrito bowl.
Friday this girl asked me to bring her Subway….and I did it without even remembering they had a pizza party.  She said she didn’t really like Little Caesars anyway.
Meanwhile in Fort Worth this boy was on a hot date attending his the First Pitch Banquet for the first time as an alumni!  I’m a little biased but I think they are adorable.
My friend Pam offered me her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun 5K registration on Friday morning and Carly was up for it even though she had never done it before.  I had to laugh when I saw her fill out her info…..in case you didn’t know she loves unicorns!
Y’all….my girl did so good!!  I had no idea what to expect but we bought a new outfit and she was so excited.  We did a combo of running and walking and she tasted the sweet success of her first finish.  I think this may be a new tradition for us.
We spent the remainder of a beautiful Saturday watching this team play 5 games of 7 on 7 and come away winners!  All heart and they left it all on the field and it was so much fun.
Sunday morning, Valentines Day and I was really happy to spend the morning in church with my love  {Receiving} the message on being wise in our relationships.  My new cuff came on Saturday with my word for the year!
And then we headed to Grub Burger bar and the waitress must have known all about how I love watching myself in the mirror.
My favorite…the jive turkey burger.  So yummy even without the bun.  I stole a sweet potato fry off Carly Jo’s plate and she said “hey, eat your bread”.
We have a great nature trail near our house and Carly Jo and I had a fun time taking Dutch exploring.
And then this boy sent me a picture to find out if he should wear the jacket or go without.  Seriously….be still my heart to see him looking so handsome!  He’s been working so hard in the off season and will be leaving soon for spring training and I am just so darn proud of him.
We ended the week with grilled filets and a little shrimp cocktail.  It was perfect!
Hope you all had a weekend filled with sweet memories!
Hop over here to see where I’m linking up!

  1. Another high schooler in the house! My mom had just me so when I entered high school and then left, whooo, that was a hard time for her. Serious empty nest syndrome.

Carly is so beautiful! She's going to be gorgeous. And I haven't hit the gym this entire year….

  2. The picture of you and Carly in the bottom right of your collage – FABULOUS!!! Love it!

OK – I need some you in my life STAT! How do we never see each other?!

  3. Love that Carly Jo may have found her sports interest and who better than to do it with but her mom? We had grilled-at-home steaks, too, for VDay! Delish!
