The Queen’s Chronicles – Whirlwind Weekending
Today will likely be the Monday-ist of Mondays after a whirlwind of a weekend! We can really never say we don’t know how to pack a weekend full of memories for sure. Here is a quick wrap up!
Friday night lights at our house means a baseball diamond but I’m okay as long as I have this guy by my side! Of course sometimes a sonic cup (which may or may not contain vodka) is also required.
It was teacher appreciate night at the ballpark and one of Dillon’s coaches was nice enough to stand in as the teacher Dillon chose was not able to make it until a little later.
Saturday morning started as normal as could be. I stepped out of my bedroom to see these tulips had opened up so beautifully. I caught up on my bible.com study and then Keith and I headed to a funeral for a friend’s father.
After we arrived back home Carly and I packed up to head to San Antonio and the boys headed out to find dress pants for Dillon. We were under a severe weather advisory and just as I got into the car to head out Keith called to let me know he was headed to his dads. A tornado swept right across his property and did some substantial damage to the property and their home.
A small neighboring town was also hit really hard. While there do not appear to be any fatalities, many homes damaged and destroyed will mean lots of healing and recovery. Please pray not only for the recovery of property for these families but also for the recovery of their hearts and minds.
In San Antonio it was chilly but full of sunshine. We checked in the Emily Morgan hotel and had a beautiful view of downtown.
First dance in the books on Saturday night and the girls were excited to receive Elite Gold. The moms were excited to see this dance look way better than we thought it had at the first competition! The girls have not been fans of the costumes and I think they just felt the dance was kind of too young for them but on Saturday night they rocked it!
Saturday we were able to sleep in a bit before heading for two more dances. The girls did so great and I really wish I could show off their production number to you! They received Elite Gold and 2nd overall for production which is a medley of Janet Jackson songs and contains 57 girls! It’s so fun to watch!
We packed up and boogied back to College Station because I still had one more event to wrap up the weekend!
Dillon and I just completed our third year with Young Men’s Service League. If you have a teenage son you should totally look into this in your area as it is a national organization. Our organization has provided over 4000 service hours to our community in the 3 years it has been in place. Serving with Dillon has definitely made this mom’s heart happy!
And of course we rarely do anything without our besties. It’s hard to believe we met 17 1/2 years ago when we were pregnant with these boys. I would have never imagined they would both grow to be so tall! Cannot wait to see what their future brings.
And on our way home Dillon let me know that he asked his girlfriend, Belle, to prom. This weekend the Aggies were playing Auburn in baseball and Belle is a huge Auburn fan. All on his own he arranged tickets to the game and had a little help from his big sis on the sign. I can’t wait to see them all dressed up!
Now, it’s April 15th and would any of you believe I have procrastinated my taxes?!! Well, if you know me then you are not surprised at all. Ugh…today must be the day I polish off a few loose ends and submit those boogers. Why does it have to be so painful.
Hoping for a little less eventful week heading into Easter weekend. Wishing you all a beautiful week.
