The Queen’s Chronicles Week 6
February is here and the calendar is full! You know how some weeks seem to float by and you are busy but there is definitely some down time? Well from February until at least the end of May our weeks will be jam packed with activities. This is definitely our busy season! I love it but I know it will get challenging and I hope I can stick with my goal to Be Present in mind and body for all activities!
I seriously have had the very worst luck lately with pictures using both my iPhone and my “real” camera. I really think we have just been in some really crappy lighting situations but it is so frustrating! It is what it is….and these are the days of our lives for week 6!
Day 32
Hard to resist these sweet faces! These girls worked hard to sell cookies pre-super bowl. They are learning many lessons both positive and negative but that’s part of the process.
We also joined our friends for a little Super Bowl fun and I was so focused on being present this is literally the only picture I took!! I honestly can’t believe it. We had lots of yummy food and left in shock over the ending (#runthefootball).
Day 33
Carly was surprised when her dad smashed the brownie sundae into her face! This picture just totally cracks me up. It doesn’t even look like her she is laughing so hard.
Day 34
We were prepared to skip our weekly date night as Dillon was suppose to have baseball practice and we were going to sit for some friends…..then it rained all day and both things fell through so we high tailed it to Napa Flats for dinner. I can’t tell you enough how these weekly one on ones have helped us stay just a tad more connected.
Day 35
Carly Jo loves to watch HGTV so we all snuggled in our big bed. Love that she is still small enough to want to come snuggle with us!
Day 36
Dillon had a basketball game while me & this girl were out in the cold selling girl scout cookies! Of course a Starbucks was a must to keep us warm. So glad I have finally found “my drink” (black coffee with 1 pump caramel dolce) and Carly so loves getting the kids hot chocolate.
Day 37
Jordan & I made the trip to Fort Worth to attend the First Pitch Banquet to kick off the TCU Baseball season. This has been our “thing” to do together and we just love seeing Riley all dressed up. This year Riley’s girlfriend also joined us for dinner. Quick side note..my friend Patti joined us for the ride and we talked about one of my favorite moms from last season….so Georgia if you are reading this here is a shout out!!
I really can’t believe it is already his 3rd year of college! Where does the time go.
He loves taking pics like this in case you can’t tell!
And for you baseball fans out there, here I am with Brandon Finnegan! Finny played for the Frogs last June in the College World Series and then went on to represent the Kansas City Royals in the World Series. Pretty darn cool and we are so proud of him!
Day 38
Jordan & I started off the day with brunch at Gloria’s and it was so delicious. Plus you can’t beat $1 mimosas!
And then we hopped over to Lupton Stadium to watch the alumni game. Riley didn’t pitch today but I am still always excited to see him even if only for a brief minute.
I drove back to College Station to attend Uncle Joe’s 70th birthday party complete with music by the Red Raven’s….that would be polka for those of you who don’t know. Czech life at it’s best!
And a Czech get together would not be the same without a bunch of crazy cousins running around together. I love that no matter what family event we go to my kids have lots of peeps to play with.
Dillon was around this week but it seems the preteen who was okay with pictures is now a teenager avoiding the camera!
Have a great week friends!
As much as I am so not ready for warm weather, I know my hubby is anxiously awaiting the start of baseball season. And I do enjoy watching my nephew play Varsity baseball for his high school! Have a great week!
Spring weather is my favorite….I will not be looking forward to the Texas heat and humidity any time soon but I do love me some baseball!
I love that Carly wants to watch HGTV!!! I wish my kiddos would! Sounds like an awesome way to end a night! 😉
She LOVES it Megan…..she was even all in a twit about missing Ellen's design challenge. haha….we really love Property Brothers and Fixer Upper the most and she has definitely watched so much now that she is constantly giving me design advice for our house!
So much to comment on… How did we not take any pictures at Super Bowl?! And it's not like we had uncooperative kids and just gave up – we are losing our touch! 🙂 I still giggle when I see the picture of Carly after being smashed! What really cracks me up is the thought of Keith actually doing it! I so, so, SO agree about the date nights! Even though our date night fell through, we ended up having lunch together the next day and it was just as good! LOVE the pictures of you guys from First Pitch! Everyone looks so beautiful and handsome! Such an exciting time for Riley! Can't wait to follow their season!
I loved the last comment. I feel like our 12 year old is never in any pictures, but she is almost always with us…. gotta love the age.
So fun! I think we are going to drive over to Fort Worth this Spring–maybe we can catch a TCU baseball game while we are there! super cute family, and it sounds like you have been having a great few weeks! ❤️
They have kids day every Sunday…kids run bases after the game and can then go through the line for autographs after. They also typically have games and stuff for the kids the first few innings..face painting and bounce houses and stuff.
This looks like a great week!!! How cool you got to meet a pro baseball player!
