The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 50
Dillon is still in need of service hours for NJHS so we headed out to volunteer at a local project, Share the Gift. We had no idea our besties would be there the same night!
Friends who volunteer together are the best! I did have to laugh because these two are exact replicas in so many ways of they mom and me. They have so much in common but are also so different. I was watching as they tried to work together and finally had to separate because they had two very different ideas of how to go about putting the sack together!
The Chick-Fil-A kids meal has been knocking it out of the park with random acts of kindness and this week Carly’s included a book of little postcards. She wrote one to our “mailman or girl” and added a candy cane. I came home at lunch and had to go sneak a peek at what she wrote! Words of affirmation are this girls love language! #notetoself
BJ is still hanging around and making messes.
I shared a our Christmas decorations in my Tuesday post and loved seeing how everyone else Decked the Halls as part of Andrea’s Show & Tell series.
Thursday was a sad day as I had to bid this pair of floral pumps good bye. I left a meeting and was walking through the parking garage thinking I stepped on something and it was stuck on my foot. Nope…it was the entire sole of my shoe which had come completely detached. #shoefail
Friday night was the 8th grade dance and Dillon & his friend Carson were super excited to meeting their girl “friends”. Eek..I’m not ready!!
Meanwhile me and my girl put on our pjs and pulled together a little hot chocolate bucket and took Dutch for a walk around the neighborhood to find the very best lights!
This house always does it up Griswold style and she was so excited to leave a surprise on their porch.
Saturday it was a quick 3 games of 7 on 7 football before the rain hit. These boys won 2 and lost 1 but looked really good for not playing together since July.
Sunday morning we headed to Sugar Land to meet this spry young lady and my brother’s family for a BIG birthday celebration! It is really hard to believe looking at her but this girl is 70! That’s 7-0! I’m not sure who was feeling older her or us!
I love these two with my whole heart! So many times it was just the 3 of us and we have had some long tearfilled nights but way more laughs! And for some reason typing this the first thing that came to mind was Toonces the cat! #saturdaynightlivejunkies
Of course BJ was feeling rested and creative on the weekend and built a sled out of graham crackers and candy canes. #pinterestforthewin
Oh my….
We hooked up in the evening with our faves and did a favorite little service project handing out gum to A&M students studying for finals! #blowawayfinals
And then we celebrated Colby’s 14th birthday at the Dixie Chicken because that’s how we roll! It was the perfect ending to our week.
The family picture on your mom's birthday – SO good! And, I'm pretty sure that's the same restaurant that Mamaw made her famous statement, yes?! Oh, sweet Dutch! You are just the cutest thing!!!
Hahaha….yes that is the same restaurant! When Holden went with me I was trying to get them to take a picture of me & Mamaw and I told Mamaw to look at the little dot on my phone. She was like "hi little dot, hi little dot". You can never get her to shut up long enough to take a picture!
