The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 41

·
First things first….if creating a fun, beautiful, perfect Christmas card is on your to do list and you are not yet following Your Merry Mailbox, fix that now and head on over.  Today our Christmas card from 2014 is on the blog!

Okay y’all, if nothing else typing this title made me realize how quickly the end of 2015 will be upon us!!  Is it just me or does time slip by faster and faster with each passing year?  Here is a quick little look at our week.

The week started off with this special girls birthday lunch at Napa Flats.    25 is a big year and I can hardly believe a quarter of a century has already passed since she came into this world and made me a mom.  Plus she’s getting dangerously close to my mental age of 28 so I’m feeling it.

The Littles had activities on her actual birthday night so we opted for a family dinner the next night instead.  Cheers!

Jordan was so sweet to choose a restaurant that would be fun for everyone including her little siblings.   We had not been to the hibachi grill in quite awhile and forgot how much fun it is when the waiter is entertaining.

Friday was the Boosterthon fun run at Carly’s school and this girl had so much fun!  Boosterthon is the largest fundraiser for our elementary school each year and I love that every single child is able to participate and feel like they have given back to their school.  I am the treasurer and have literally teared up opening up an envelope and finding 46 cents in a ziplock bag.  I just love that all the kids are able to take some ownership in seeing Creek View succeed.  Last year the PTO was able to provide approximately $26K back to the school for technology purchases and other needs which directly impact he kids in the classroom.

Friday afternoon it was more {fun}draising at our divisions annual bowling tourney.  This was the 9th year the Division of Finance has sponsored a bowling tournament to help raise funds for the annual State Employee Charitable Campaign.  I was super excited to bowl with these ladies.  I seriously forgot to change into my bowling shoes and on my first roll “stuck” to the floor and fell forward with the ball sliding down the lane.  Always a good time!

Carly was a good sport on Saturday as we were up super early.  Keith headed to his dads to do some work on his land, Dillon had a baseball scrimmage and that left the girls to have the oil changed in two cars and the tires rotated on one.   We knocked it all out and grabbed Torchy’s breakfast tacos before heading over just in time to see Dillon pitch a couple of innings.

Her only request for Saturday was going to the pumpkin patch to pick out her pumpkin.  I love that this girl is still so about all the experiences that come with every season.  I know soon enough this will no longer be the top on her list.  You can see how fun daddy long legs though this outing was.  ha!

I was thrilled to run into one of my good friends who was willing to take this picture for us.  He even acted silly to get Dutch Buddy to pose just perfectly.

We headed out to the Hullabaloo Diner for dinner and the kids and Keith played a game of Jenga while we waited on our table.  I seriously loved watching them as it started off so competitive but then they all started working together.  I had no idea they all loved this game but we are totally adding to the Christmas list!

After church we met up with the McBertys and headed to check out this corn maze created by the Agronomy club at Texas A&M.  If you are around the Bryan/College Station area you can find out more here.
It was quick and noone got lost but I think everyone had fun even though there were a few comments from some teens who will go unnamed that it was “forced family fun”.
Our kids really all think we are one big family!
Love this crew!  Lots of great photo opportunities at the maze.
Carly & Holden headed to a birthday party at U Paint It Sunday afternoon before we all gathered at our house for dinner.   I do not have any pictures but dinner was delicious and the fellowship between our families was just the refueling my soul needed.
And the best part is I cooked dinner but Holly brought this Boo-tiful wreath to add to my Halloween decorations!!  Isn’t it precious?!
Our kids are out of school today and I am off work and as I typed this remembered I have a parent teacher conference in like 15 minutes….and I have not even gotten out of bed yet.  Yikes!
Have a great week!
