The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 37
Do you ever have those weeks when you really don’t feel like much has happened? That’s how I felt about week 37 until I looked back through my pictures! Here is our week in pictures.
Keith was the only one in our family with Labor Day off. That’s right, Texas A&M is open on Labor Day and our local school typically follows that schedule so the kids were also in school. I took half the day off and decided to have a fun date instead of trying to tackle some items on the to do list.
We headed to the Dixie Chicken for lunch, a couple of beers and some pool with our friends. This is where Keith and I first met and typically it is packed with college kids so going at lunch was more our style these days.
Moved on to find the perfect couch only to run home to measure and have it sold before I returned. I almost cried!
Little miss started her dance class Monday evening and she was over the moon excited!
I headed for a glass of wine and some snacks over some girl talk with my friends Lallah & Kim. Good for my soul!
Tuesday Dillon had his first football game of the season and they won 22-0. Go Cubs!
Wednesday I took lunch to Carly Jo and her friend Addison. It really doesn’t take much to make this girl happy.
They are quite silly together.
Thursday was girls night out with some “old” friends. Thanks to Holly we have been getting together about once a month to catch up and share mom stories. We all have 8th graders this year….2 boys and 2 girls…so lots of discussions about teenage life!
Friday I picked this boy up at the airport but could not share how excited I was because he had a plan to drive to Fort Worth and surprise his girlfriend at the TCU game on Saturday. He was successful and she sent me this picture after.
Pretty much sums up my Friday night! This girl for some reason thought it was okay to lay on my kitchen counters with bare feet…eww. The school week taxed her evidently and she was in quite rare form.
Up for tailgating on Saturday and Keith’s only request was a meat and cheese tray.
Set up with this girl and we had a great time visiting and snacking before the game.
Love Aggie game days when we have some down time to just relax and hang out together doing something we both enjoy.
The tickets for the first game were special for the re-opening of Kyle Field. The stadium is nothing short of spectacular…aside from the audio which needs some tweaking.
Football is always more fun with friends!
A good picture of these two was proving difficult.
Colby is not impressed with Dillon’s determination to ignore me. 🙂
These two are always excited when they are together!
Gameday in Aggieland with 104 thousand of our closest friends!
I ended the week being super lazy! The air is much cooler and dryer and it felt like fall Sunday morning so I enjoyed reading on the porch. I finally pulled out my fall decor too and it just feels so much more “homy” at my house now!
Ready to get a move on again this week! Last week I totally ate terribly and only made it to work out once. The best part of Monday is it’s a fresh start.
Many of you have asked about my cuffs in the past. Well, today is the day Farmgirl Paints opens her shop so you can design and create your very own!! As a bonus, my readers can receive 15% off by using the code fangirlshellyj. Be sure to follow along on Instagram here as I’ll be sharing my favorites as well as others during her extended opening through November 2nd!
Hope you have a super week!

You are one busy family! So many fun activities though! I can't believe your local school doesn't get labor day off!
Can they not order the couch for you? Maybe it was a sign. I can't tell you how much it pleased me to see Carly stretched out on your island. I am not alone!
Carly on the counter…love it..I would lying if I said my kids have never done that!!!! And tailgating for anything is just FUN!!!
Haha…my kids do things all the time and I'm like "are you kidding me right now?"….and in fact….that may just be my new cuff! 🙂
Girl – the couch was perfect! Dang it! I can't believe it sold in that short amount of time!!! And, can we talk about how it feels like FO-EVA since we were at The Chicken? I need another holiday where the kids are in school so we can go back!!! Or, maybe I just need a beer. Is that weird since it's 10:30 am on a Tuesday?! 🙂
