The Queen’s Chronicles – Week 24

·
We have definitely burned some miles on the road and earned some hotel rewards lately!  We are all tired of dining out but not ready for all the fun to end just yet.  Here’s a look at our exciting week!
Day #159
Our Aggie friends came back to Fort Worth to watch TCU vs A&M for the last game of the super regionals!
After an emotional 16 inning game the Horned Frogs pulled out the win.  There may have been some tears.
These boys are roomies and they have both been great friends to Riley.
Day #160
We got home at 4:30am and got a couple hours of sleep before I had to go to work.  It was a long, long day but smack dab in the middle the Astros picked up Riley in the 3rd round of the MLB draft and we all felt instantly relieved to have the unknown behind us! I couldn’t help but take a little trip down memory lane.
Day #161
I headed to campus to take a few pictures for a friend and Carly & Dutch tagged along.  Love thee two so much!
Day #162
I don’t know why it seems so hard to make time to get this girls haircut but it always slips right off my radar and next thing I know a year has passed.  She did not want to pose for me but I just love her sweet little face and was so happy to see her hair looking so healthy again.
Then I picked up this girl for our monthly date night.  Poor thing has had an eye infection and was not feeling 100% but I sure did enjoy hearing about what has been going on in her life.
Day #163
Dutch Buddy turned 1 on the 13th but since we were going to be leaving super early we celebrated his birthday on Friday night.  He wasn’t too interested in wearing this hat!
But he did have some interest in the cake!  Oh my goodness how I love this boy!
My friend Holly and her family joined the celebration with their new puppy Maggie.  It appears Dutch was ok with sharing his birthday cake but that was short lived.  We have a little ways to go to get these two to understand they are family!
Day #164
We packed up and headed out early for a little road trip to Omaha!
By the time we arrived we were all starving and headed to Big Fred’s pizza for dinner.
It was very different from the pizza we are used to in Texas but it was good….or at least I think it was!  I was so hungry I’m not sure I actually even tasted it.
Day #165
Ready for game one wearing my lucky tank!

Such a fun place to watch baseball!
I love, love to see him interacting with fans.

Looks like I need to work a little harder on my pitcher mom face!  I was super nervous even though we were up 10-3.   Riley threw 2 balls and then proceeded to throw the next 9 pitches for strikes to end the game.  Exhale mom!
Hoping this week is just as exciting at the ballpark!

  1. I have loved keeping up with you through all the CWS hoopla! I've even got Wayne interested in TCU now and for die hard Alabama fans, you know how hard that is! But like he said, hey! We don't have a dog in this fight and as long as LSWho doesn't win, we'll cheer for anyone! Ha! We had friends over for the game Sunday. The kids swam and the guys watched the game on the big screen upstairs. My friend Kristin had to entertain me downstairs. But we had pizza – which seems to be a staple in your world – and had a great evening watching TCU play! Your baseball mom face looks like my cheer and softball mom face!! Love it! Have fun!!

  2. Shelly,
never fear! I was nervous too and I don't even personally "know" you …although I feel like I do! We were eating pizza, watching the game, and waiting to go to a movie on Sunday. My daughters were like "Mom, you act like you know these people"…..they don't get that IG and Blog friends are really friends! LOL …..you see the comings and goings of each others lives on a daily basis and feel like you do know them! You cheer the highs and support the lows! Enjoy the games and I am set to watch this afternoon/evening!!

    1. Haha…yes Kim I am the same way! I'm always saying "this friend of mine" and my husband is like you mean one of your "online" friends not your "real" friend. He thinks I'm nuts! But who says you can't find common bonds and support others from afar. Appreciate you following along for sure!

  3. OK – this is going to be long (it's apparent how much I'm missing you!)… First – doesn't it feel like we were in Fort Worth together MONTHS ago and not just last week?! The picture of you and Riley after the game – just might be my most favorite picture of you guys EVA! So sweet!!! Love that you are wearing his jersey! {cue the tears} And then you had to follow with the flashback pics of Riley as a little boy – that's how I remember him (especially the picture on the right of the collage). But then you made me giggle at the picture of Dutch and Maggie – check out the hunk of cake that Dutch has and the tiny section that Maggie has – but, hey, it was his birthday! All your pics of the CWS – fabulous! Keep 'em coming!!! I love the picture of Riley signing autographs and you watching from the stands! Love everything and you guys! Be safe! I would say to come home soon but I really want you guys to stay till the end!!! Thinking about and missing you guys!
