The Queen’s Chronicles – Strutter Showcase
Happy Monday! Today’s Queen’s Chronicles is pretty much all about Miss Carly Jo and her teamates as they performed their Spring Showcase this weekend not once but three times! These girls spend countless hours on choreography and cleaning dances to prepare for this show and it’s always so much fun to watch. From the first dance to the final send off I am always in awe.
This was the 10th year of CSHS first opening so it was a special year to also be Carly’s first year on the team. I’m pretty clueless when it comes to dance and had no idea why they always made the reference to “the Strutter 10th line” until I finally asked during football season. I can only imagine how emotional I’ll be in two years when it is Carly’s final signoff as a senior because I get emotional every year I’ve watched one of these shows!
While the girls do perform routines from their competition season, many of the other dances are choreographed by the officers and also by the girls for their class dances. It’s so impressive to me how they pull it all together. Lots and lots of 6:45am practices as well as time after school getting it all ready fo this one weekend. So much fun watching these girls bond as a team.
One last celebration this week as they host the annual banquet and then they are of until it’s time to get ready for football season again! While it will be hard to top this first year, (going to state was really amazing) I can’t wait to see Carly Jo continue to grow as a dancer! If you can’t tell by the smile on her face I think she kind of likes it! After being drug around her entire life to socer and baseball, being the center of attention is kind of her favorite and she is a lucky girl to have family and friends come out to support her.
