the Queen’s Chronicles – Port A for the 4th

We spent July 4th weekend in Port Aransas at the beach and enjoyed some sweet time together. I always know when there aren’t as many pictures that I truly disconnected and embraced the time away. Here is a little brief Queen’s Chronicles update of our time in Port A for the 4th!

There were sand castles, wave hopping and golf cart rides at the beach and hours spent relaxing in the pool. Of course there were plenty of snacks and even some fresh fried fish one night! We have gotten Haisley hooked on High School Musical so there were also lots of snuggles on the couch! Watching the fireworks over the bay was also a highlight.

This was the first time we had a golf cart and I will never go without renting one again! It really was just a fun addition to toodle around and drive up and down the beach. The boys went fishing each morning and I got up early and drove down to watch the sunrise and take a little walk on the beach. The golf cart made it so easy and just more fun!

Having a pool is also a nice treat. Even though the pool was super tiny, it was honestly just perfect for what we needed and we spent two days just soaking up a little sun and relaxing in the pool, laughing and playing with Haisley.

While I love a day at the beach, I don’t love how much effort it takes to haul everything down there and set it all up. We always have a challenge because alot of the neighborhoods and houses will not allow boat parking and my man isn’t going to the coast without his boat! Next time we are going to investigate renting boat parking because on our golf cart ride down the beach I noticed some of the resorts will set up chairs and umbrellas and reserve for you and that looked like something I need in my life!

Our crew continues to grow and next summer we will have at least one more little body along. The week of the 4th has just seemed to work out so well for our family to get together so I hope we can keep this tradition. I’m looking into Broken Bow, Oklahoma or maybe the Frio river but who knows we may end up back at the beach!

  1. So fun! I think finding one date (July 4th) is such a good idea for our families as they are “adulting.” A small pool would be so nice with a little one. Did you find a dog bed? Here’s the one both our dogs love from Walmart: Vibrant Life Lounger Pet Bed. We have the large size.

  2. I love this!! I love that you want to make this a week a tradition. I know that will be something that I hope to do as my kids continue to get older!!

    1. I know that you will work hard to continue to make it happen Heather! It’s hard once they launch after college to work with their schedules.
