The Queen’s Chronicles – One in a Melon
This weekend our “one in a melon” gal turned one and we were so excited to celebrate! How a year has already passed since Haisley Grace was born is hard to believe. She came along right in time to bring lots of joy and light to our year and you can see in these pics we all love her a ton!
Her momma whipped up a perfectly themed birthday party with so many details and even an outfit change! Haisley even left those cute little piggies in the entire party. The themed treats and cupcakes whipped up by mom herself were all perfect touches to make it such a special day.
Riley is playing ball for the Sugar Land Skeeters and the biggest downside of being a professional baseball player is missing days like this. The girls were able to spend Haisley’s actual birthday with him in Round Rock while he was on the road and even had a chance to watch him pitch! This girl sure does remind me a ton of her daddy when he was little!
Haisley was a little tentative with her first bite, but she no doubt fits right in with the rest of her foodie family as once she had that first bite she was all in. Don’t worry, we didn’t let her eat the entire cake! She didn’t mind one bit being the center of attention and with all her grands, aunts and uncles on hands there was no shortage of love to go around.
Her genius momma put her in a swimsuit before she dove into the cake and then it was straight into the watermelon pool to clean up! I see many more days in the pool for this little cutie because she absolutely loved it. Seriously, easy clean up and then wear them out in the pool for naptime? Taylor definitely had a plan!
We did have one little hiccup when we realized it’s just a little weird when my ex-husband calls me Honey. Ha! Truly, it’s just one more way our family is a little whacky. One thing I’m so thankful for is the relationship we have been able to maintain all these years, especially now that we share this little angel.
Being a grandparent has been a hightlight for sure and we would not trade one day. Haisley Grace you are the cutest, sweetest little girl and we can’t wait to see you continue to grow in year two.
