The Queen’s Chronicles – Nationals in Hawaii
What a spring break dream right? Traveling to Hawaii with your best girls to compete doing something you love at a national competition! The trip started off a little rocky at one in the morning when the charter bus driver took a wrong turn and ended up stuck on a dirt road. For real, there was some real tense moments as they were delayed over an hour and finally made it to the airport maybe 45 minutes before we started boarding the plane!! Thankfully that was the last little glitch!
These girls seriously brought all of their energy to Waikiki and peformed their hearts out leaving it all on the dance floor. I’ll be honest, after being a sports mom for years, the scoring for dance always confuses me. Even though overall they had the highest score of any team, they ended up the 1st runner up. The Crowd Pleasers scoring drops your lowest scoring dance and it was the deciding factor. We were so proud of how they handled themselves and they truly were the life of the party at the gala.
Carly even lived out her Teen Beach movie dreams as you can see below! It was such a sweet week and I can’t wait to pull together a few posts of our time in both Oahu with the group and our last few days in Kauai. As one mom told me, I was on a trip in Oahu and then I went on vacation to Kauai…truth!
It has been a great junior year of dance and these girls will be back at it this week preparing for their spring show before wrapping up the season. I love seeing my girl do her thing!
