The Queen’s Chronicles – King George
When it was announced that George Strait would be playing at Kyle Field right here in College Station we didn’t hesitate to jump all in and grab tickets for the family. As the date approached and the weather heated up I debated my choice. Two days later I can say I sure am glad I didn’t miss out because it was a night to remember! How fun to be part of a record breaking attendance for King George right here in my hometown!
My bestie from college came down and we headed to Northgate to grab burgers at the Dixie Chicken before the concert. They were also celebratiing their 50th anniversary so it was an electric atmosphere. Lots of memories at the Dixie Chicken as this is where I spotted Keith for the first time and we spent many of nights hanging out there.
I truly never dreamed that Kyle Field would make such an incredible venue for a concert but it truly was. We made it in to watch Parker McCollum before the King of country himself took the stage. Our seats were perfect and both artists sounded amazing.
My momma LOVED George Strait and we went to see him together twice at the Houston rodeo. I decided to opt for wearing her vintage King George for president tshirt instead of dressing up. My mother-in-law is also a George fan and she had the best time singing along and stayed right to the end.
Sharing a love for music with my kids is one of my very favorite things! In the fall we saw Zach Bryan and last April we saw Taylor Swift but Carly turned around after one George Strait song on Saturday and said “mom this beats Taylor Swift” so I feel my job here is done. HA!. Spending this time together singing along with George will definitley be stored as a core memory!
Love her comment about Taylor Swift! I felt a little happy that he had the record for highest concert attendance. I would have loved to go, but that traffic back to Houston was crazy!
