The Queen’s Chronicles – Fun & Festive

The past week has been full of so much fun! From holiday parties to our last Friday night lights, we were on the go all week long. Thankfully, I had my mind right at the beginning of the week and was able to push through without stressing over the things that were not getting done. So here are a few pictures from this weeks fun and festive Queen’s Chronicles.

Gat 12 Bar & Grill

Monday started with our office lunch at Gate 12 Bar & Grill. I’m not sure there was even one kernel of corn left on my plate! This restaurant is a fun choice if you happen to find yourself in College Station. It has been open about a year and is at the airport so while you are dining you can watch the planes take off and land. We have a lot of military planes stopping through and I never knew this before!

On Monday night I had an NCL board meeting and our board president made homemade lasagna and salad with homemade dressing that was such an incredible treat. I wish I had taken a picture because it was all almost too pretty to eat! We also had a fun white elephant gift exchange.

Brussel Spouts

On Tuesday we were suppose to have dinner with friends but they had to cancel and I did not have dinner planned. With all the eating we have been doing we literrally skipped a meal and ate these roasted brussels for dinner. I roasted the sprouts with some bacon in the oven at 425 for 25 minutes and then used the broiler to crisp them up a bit. In the meantime I combined about a 1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar and a tsp fo honey over high heat to create a little balsamic reduction. Once the sprouts were done I drizzed the reduction over them and they were delicious!

Holiday Party

Don’t let the bad lighting fool you, we had such a great time at another holiday dinner on Wednesday. Ronin is another restaurant here that is a big win if you are looking for a different dining experience. The chicken fried steak is nothing short of amazing and we enjoyed some conversation with my work group. Always fun to dress a little festive and have a free meal right?

Cookie Exchange

On Thursday night, Carly and I attended a mother/daughter cookie exchange. We all displayed our cookies and everyone brought cash to vote on their favorites. The winner chose their favorite charity and the $276 was donated! I thought this was such a fun idea. Of course we made my Meme’s chocolate cookies and they didn’t win but not becuase they aren’t the best!

Friday night lights has been one of our favorites for the last 16 weeks and oh what a fun ride it was! We headed to AT&T stadium in Dallas to watch the Cougars play for the state championship. They came up short in a heartbreakingi 27-24 loss in overtime. It was such an exciting game and they left it all on the field.

Of course Carly and her strutter friends had a blast pre-game taking pictures! What a treat to be able to perform on the field at AT&T stadium. They will definitey savor this memory for years to come.

On Saturday afternoon, my friend Holly and I packed up our Christmas gifts, a few rolls of wrapping paper and tape and checked into The George for a little mom staycation! We ate a fancer dinner and then headed to our room to put on our Christmas pjs, turn on the Hallmark channel and get busy wrapping! We stayed up until almost 2am but all the gifts are wrapped! The blackout curtains were the real MVP and we slept until 10:45!! After a quick lunch we were headed back to our families feeling accomplished and relaxed! This will definitely become a new tradition for us!

This morning I jumped out of bed bright and early to head for the gym, determined to get in some workouts this week for my sanity! I made it about 1/2 mile and my car was feeling “wobbly” and then a warning light popped on (joy). I came back home and started researching and apparently the stabilation system has an issue. Sounds cheap right? Once it was daylight and I had a chance to take another look, my back rear tire is leaning and Keith thinks I’ve got a wheel bearing out. Not the week I wanted to be without a vehicle but I’m going to put on my big girl pants and deal with it!

Hope your week is low stress and filled with some holiday spirit!
