The Queen’s Chronicles – Fort Worth Zoo
We spent the July 4th weekend in Fort Worth while Riley was playing ball in nearby Cleburne. The Fort Worth Zoo has always been one of my very favorites and we visited many times while Riley was in school. It was fun to be able to spend a few hours exploring with our Haisley girl!
The zoo has updated several of their habitats for the elephants, hippos and giraffes. The hippos now have a huge tank they can soak in also filled with fish and you can view them under water and the giraffes now have a feeding station which is so fun! Watching it all through Haisley’s eyes is the best.
The zoo is currently upgrading all the predator exhibits so we were really sad not to see any lions or tigers. Of course if you llive in Texas you know it is HOT. Miserably hot! We were definitely thankful for those indoor exhibits spread throughout the park.
I think it’s safe to say Haisley’s favorite thing may have been riding the carousel with mommy and Aunt Car Car. When it was over I wasn’t sure Taylor was going to be able to pry her off!
Such sweet times with this precious little family! Plus 3 nights of baseball and I’m always impressed with what a trooper Haisley is. Not only was it so hot and humid but baseball is long y’all. It was worth the wait to see daddy pitch. Taylor has taught her to say “throw gas daddy”! Riley is currently playing independent ball in South Dakota as a free agent with hopes of getting picked up by a major league team again. Still lots of prayers for this kid to see his big league dreams come true.
My half sister, Allison, was also able to join us for a couple of nights and it was fun to catch up! Making memories with people I love will always be my favorite!
Now….looking for a way to stay cool this week with triple digits for the foreseeable forecast! It’s brutal y’all. Definitely daydreaming about our Colorado trip and wishing I had some of those temps!
