The Queen’s Chronicles – February Showoffs

Before I let the month get too far in front of me, I’m sharing the Queen’s Chronicles with a few February Showoffs! I love having this series as a bit of a scrapbook for our family to look back on and we have had lots of activity so far this month!

Spring is contest season for the Strutters and this year Carly decided to perform a duet with her friend Lexi. They have competed twice now and it was so fun to see her up there stretching herself a little. Her smile says it all!

The pom routine is always one of my favorites and this one is no exception. The costumes are darling too. With the four day weekend from school, they performed on Saturday and then headed to San Antonio where they had some bonding at Fiesta Texas and the River Walk. I can’t wait to hear all about it when she arrives back home today.

I love these girls so much and love how well they support one another!

In January I celebrated my 30th year working for Texas A&M! It’s crazy really to think I’ve been here that long. My work family took me out to lunch to celebrate! I have been so fortunate to work with so many people who have supported me and encouraged me over the last 30 years. The people have been the best part of my job.

This salmon was amazing! I chose a local restaurant, Paolos Italian, which I had not been to in forever and everything was delicious.

My Valentine sent me flowers for the first time in a bit and they were absolutely gorgeous! I know some don’t see the point in spending money on flowers that don’t last but they make me so happy!

It’s always a good week when we have some time with our Haisley girl. She loves being outside so much so I was happy the sun was shining Saturday and we were able to get outdoors and explore!

When I’m getting dressed she LOVES to go through my drawers and pull out all my stuff and boy is she quick! We had a little mess with some charcoal eye shadow. 🙂 She put my glasses on and it was cracking me up!

We finished our weekend with some San Jac baseball! There is just nothing like seeing your kids happy doing something they love.

And this picture is from a week or so back. I was driving and happened to look over and see this cloud. At first it looked like a feather to me and I sent it to my friend Holly. She noted that it looked like an angel wing and I have to say it really does. A few years ago Holly’s dad passed away and as the 1st anniversary approached, she began looking for signs from heaven on her walks every day and every day a feather was presented somewhere on her path. It really made me more conscious of looking for the things God presents us with each day that are beautiful and precious but sometimes go unnoticed.

I hope you find some unexpected joy in your week!
