The Queen’s Chronicles – Fall Feels
It’s finally feeling like fall at least in the mornings here in Texas. October is always one of my favorite months! We have so much to celebrate with 5 family birthdays but there is also just always so many fun activities to do and the cooler temps just give me more energy to want to do them! Here is a look at the Queen’s Chronicles over the last week and some of the fall feels we are enjoying!
We celebrated Jordan & Taylor’s birthdays early before Jordan left for a trip to Banff (I’m so jealous). Keith grilled steak and the HEB cheesecake for dessert was a win!
Pep rallies have become a favorite and this week they actually had their first black light pep rally. It was really fun! Carly & Holden have been friends since they were born and, while they are only 6 months apart in age, they are a grade apart in school. This means Holden is a senior this year and I think they have started to realize their time together as it has always been is limited becuase they have been spending a ton of time together.
On Thursday night, the girls talked us into taking them to the Tracy Lawrence concert at House of Blues in Houston. I have to admit, I was initially like what? These girls apparently like some 90s country and I’m so glad they were so convincing. Tracy Lawrence sang all of his hits and we sang right along with him. He is a great entertainer and still sounded amazing. We loved the small venue at House of Blues and the girls both ended up catching a guitar picks! It was a really fun night that was worth staying up late for on a work night!
I had zero clue what I was going to wear but always know that black and denim is a good idea. I grabbed this top from the two piece Amazon set I purchased earlier this summer and popped it on with my jeans and animal print boots. Then I remembered I had this turquoise belt that is definitely 10+ years old from Chicos and it completed the look. It was a fun concert look that made me feel less like a 50+ mom!
On Saturday we had some sweet time with our Haisley girl at the pumpkin patch! She is just complete joy y’all. Seeing the world through a child’s eyes is just so heartwarming. Everything is exciting and fun and it makes me want to see things this way too!
We had to laugh becuase she started picking out her pumpkin but then quickly became very interested in the sign. She snatched it and took off! When we asked her if she could put it back she said “yeah…..no”. Haha
And this girl loves her some aunt Car Car. I don’t know if she just senses that Carly is the closest to her age or what but they definitely have fun together. Haisley is a little cautious about things and the owner was encouraging her to take a picture at this photo stop. Carly was NOT impressed when he said “well how about taking it with mom”. LOL
I just love her so much! Every single thing they say about grandchildren is 100% truth! This girl is such a perfect little combo of her mom and dad and it’s just so fun to watch her grow.
It has been a really long time since I’ve been motivated too decorate for anything other than Christmas but this year I just knew my heart needed to see some warmth in my house. I freshened up the planters on the front porch and added a few pumpkins. Then I pulled out the bats I purchased probably 2 years ago and added them to the wall and placed a few halloween touches here and there. Love how it turned out!
This weekend we were home and it just felt so good to have zero agenda. Keith finished replacing all of our brass hinges and doorknobs with updated matte black and it’s just amazing the difference it made. We ate at home, planned meals for the week and watched college football. It was just a really good weekend!
Looking forward to a good week and wishing you one as well!
