The Queen’s Chronicles – Easter Weekend
We decided to try one of the popular methods for dying Easter eggs this year and it was…..messy! But like Carly said “the messy part is the fun part mom”. If she says so I’ll try to believe it’s true. Haha! We did one batch using shaving cream but the next using whipped cream after I read you weren’t suppose to eat the shaving cream ones. Momma loves some boiled eggs and really hates to waste.
I spent the rest of Saturday evening taking two big bunches of flowers and separating into several arrangements to use for our Easter dinner tables. Real flowers are my fave!
Riley was home very briefly on Saturday to grab his truck and a few things but needed to be in Corpus by 1:00 on Sunday. Carly was the only one dressed and ready for a picture and these two are always so goofy together.
My poor hubby has not been feeling well all weekend but we managed to make it to church together and he attempted a smile in between coughing. Carly Jo volunteered in preschool and she said it was W-I-L-D with lots of confetti eggs. She was really glad her job wasn’t cleaning that up.
Love these kids to pieces!
Keith’s mom and sister also joined us and Mimi made banana pudding at Carly’s request. I’m going to have to get onto her because she had the nerve to leave it at my house!! Oh goodness the desserts we had today.
Jordan’s roommates also joined us. These two are also my trainers but kind of like adopted daughters around the house too. They are definitely like part of the family and I loved that they were sprawled out on the couch taking naps after we were done eating!
Kaleigh’s parents retired to Florida but came to town for Easter weekend and they also joined us. I seriously love having a big group over to eat….it just makes me so happy to fill hearts and bellies!
I was super thrilled to also see my momma walk in my door today! She splits her holidays between me and my brother but Easter to me is a favorite to have her here for. And yes, this is my 3rd outfit of the day because we headed downtown Sunday evening for a few outfit pictures for the Ageless Style linkup this week!
I also captured this! Friends, the days are long but the years are short. This little miss is just growing and changing so fast. I love her spunky personality more every day even if she is sometimes bossing me.
What did not get done this weekend…..my bedroom is not ready for painters and there are several loads of laundry calling my name! I did find this pillow and changed out my bedding which made me so darn happy. I love adding just a little touch of something new and fresh to change things up a bit.
Hoping you all had a heartwarming time celebrating our risen Savior! My heart is so very full and I feel blessed beyond what I could possibly deserve.
Wishing you all a beautiful first week of April!
