The Queen’s Chronicles
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted in the Queen’s Chronicles so this is a little more than a weeks worth.
My girl is always being drug around to baseball but she is a really good sport. She even did some posing for me so I could get the light right for some outfit shots while we were in Missouri.
If you missed our Missouri Roadtrip you can catch up here!
We spent July 4th at my friend Katy’s house with all these cuties! I love that Dillon was willing to hold the littlest guest!
This was as good as this crazy bunch was getting.
Carly was actually excited about sparklers and not afraid this year!
Holly is always so sweet to grab my kids when they head to volunteer at the Foodbank! These girls worked on stuffing bags for Seniors and you can tell they have teamwork!
They spent the afternoon at Holly’s and made these cute rag bags out of two dishtowels! Impressive.
My oldest daughter wrote this beautiful post to share on my blog in case you missed it!
I headed to my hometown for my….I guess you would call it ex-nephew’s wedding. These two are always just so fun to hang out with!
And we were so excited Riley brought his girlfriend down to spend the weekend with us.
On Sunday Carly and I hosted a special lemonade stand with her friend Holden. My friend Michelle lost her daughter, Sydney, 3 years ago and this was the anniversary. Michelle wanted to focus on how Sydney lived instead of how she died this anniversary and so we raised money for Sydney’s memorial fund. Sydney was a special girl and I have so seen the Lord work in Michelle’s life through this tragedy. You can read more about it in Leaving a Legacy.
Dutch Buddy said it was way too hot!
Carly & Holden started Creative Arts Camp at the First United Methodist Church on Monday.
Looks like these too had a little fun with my phone on the way home from camp!
Carly bookmarked all the recipes she wanted to try from the Skinny Suppers cookbook so I put together this supreme pepperoni pizza pasta and it was delicious!
One of our gym buds is moving on and we had a little going away dinner with her. Four of us plus our trainer have been together for the past 3 1/2 years griping about the workouts but holding each other accountable for showing up!
Carly chose the group Heavenly Cupcakes at her Creative Arts Camp this week so every day when I pick her up she has had some new cupcake design to show off. She & Holden have devoured all before I could get a picture so I finally snagged this one!
I grabbed a 6-pack of my favorite summer beer for the first time this summer and it was so refreshing!
Friday morning this kid had his annual physical. Y’al, I just cannot even believe the growth this kid has seen. He measured 6’1″…and 1/2. I mean look at those feet!!
The Creative Arts Camp puts together a full fledged musical to conclude the week and these girls did a great job.
I’ve loved seeing these two enjoy each others company as adults! My boys last night in town before heading back to Orlando to start his rehab. (he made it safely yesterday!)
Sissy went to float the river which meant we got to babysit Pesto for the weekend! Aunt Carly was thrilled.
And got all the sugars!
A lot of times when I order I have zero clue if something will work for me so I was super surprised this little Gap plaid popover top did. It is super soft, true to size and comes in several different plaids. I am a sucker for a popover! I also ordered a spaghetti strap tank in plaid and will let you know how that worked!
We spent Saturday night with our friends for dinner and the girls had fun playing board games and harassing the poor little sister.
I’m pretty sure this is how my grandparenting skills are going to go….Pesto does all kinds of things I do not allow Dutch to do!!
Sunday afternoon we headed to Houston with my in-laws and my mom to see Wicked!
Makes me happy that this is still okay!
We stopped to grab a bite at Sweet Paris where we shared a Crepe stuffed with “real” food.
Before devouring this one! Holy moly….nutella, strawberries, bananas, whipped cream and ice cream. It was amazing!
Super excited to share this with Carly Jo! She loved it!
While I was gone, Holly grabbed the boys and their bikes and headed to Texas A&M campus to let the boys do some Pokemon Go hunting! Yes…I believe they are obsessed with finding them and we are obsessed with this new opportunity to spend time with them. You can read Holly’s post Why I’m Ok With My Son Playing Pokemon Go!
This was pretty cool! The boys will actually be class of 2020 from high school!
Hope you all are having a super summer!
What a fun summer you are having
Whoop whoop look at all this cuteness and fun! Love those smiles! Riley and his girl are stunning!! Looking so cute in that plaid pop over! But then again when don't you look cute sweet mama! Have a great week ahead
Some serious fun being had over there!! A lemonade stand is a great idea!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
Oh wow! You have had such an action packed few weeks! I loved Wicked! I'm so glad you got to share it with some special people in your life! I also love that plaid Gap shirt. Very cute! I haven't been to Gap in forever. I may have to check it out after seeing that shirt. Have a great day!
Love when we have weeks where we see you guys a lot! I had so much fun with the boys last night!!!
Definitely going to need to check out the missouri road trip favorites!!

Y'all are totally having the best summer ever. I love how all of the little things add up to make for some pretty amazing memories.
Love that cold shoulder top and the plaid popover is adorable. Wicked is the only show I've ever seen, and LOVED it!!!! Happy Monday!
I'm worn OUT from this post, so I can only imagine what it was actually like living it!! Love, love, love Wicked! Saw it in NY with my BFF seven years ago last week! {The pics showed up on my time hop, so that's how I knew!}
What a fun week, and wow you guys do a lot in one week, I'm tired just reading your recap! But so many fun things to talk about 🙂 That puppy, adorable!
Loved every bit of this catch-up chronicle from the last few weeks! I can't believe how tall Dillon is! Eighth grade is definitely the year for growth.
Supreme pepperoni pizza pasta sounds amazing. It looks really good, too! Can you share the recipe?
Love how much the McJanacs love each other!
Yes! I will share Stephanie….meant to here and just lost track of time. 🙂 I'll be sure to get it to you soon. Super easy and delish!
Thanks Tanya…..I really am glad I go back and do these little follow ups. Makes me realize sometimes we are having more fun than I think. Working all summer while they are home makes me sad.
Haha..Sarah I am sure you are moving WAY more than I am with those little cuties!
Wicked is my fave Laura! We saw in NYC for Holly's 40th birthday and I've been wanting to share it with my girls ever since . Jordan bailed on me for a river trip…boo…but sharing it with my mom was fun too!
Isn't it a great show Lisa?!! I haven't seen a large number of shows myself but this one I've seen once in NYC and now here. So good!
Me too Beth….definitely keeping track of the little things here has helped me see we really do make lots of special memories even if I am still dreaming of a "real" vacation!!
It really is a beautiful state Darcy!
It was a grande week! This should be my last crazy week at work and I'll be ready to make those last few weeks of summer count.
I have it on good authority from someone who went into an actual store that they picked up the shirt for $11! I ordered on sale but I don't think it was that cheap!
We got lucky B….wasn't as brutally hot that day as it could have been! Of course hot temps definitely sell lemonade!
You probably hear this all the time, but I don't know how you do it all! 🙂
You are sweet Andrea. I have really let myself go a little and all my clothes are a little tight so I haven't been feeling quite myself. Started a little challenge on Monday so hopefully back on track soon! Why does summer food have to be so good!!
Thanks Kimm! Hope Olivia is having a great time back at school.
Hey friend! Loved this post and felt like I live down the street from you since we are Snappy buds! Carly looks to be having THE BEST summer! She so reminds me of my C. I hope your week is going great xoxox!
I definitely think they could be fast friends!
