The Queen’s Chronicles 2016
It was a fun week here as I finally made another step forward with one of the things on my house checklist! We also celebrated Dillon’s birthday and watched lots of basketball. See how it all unfolded.
I have seriously wanted to remove the box light for probably at least 10 years and finally this week it happened! Just waiting for the drywall guy to come and finish it all up. We also removed the funky light above the sink and added these two pendants. . I am loving that I can actually see to clean dishes!
While the electricians were working in the kitchen I was working in my bedroom. It is also time for our annual budget process so busier than usual.
I celebrated with my new favorite snack: sprouted bread, avocado & tomato. Seriously can’t stop thinking about it! Thanks to Karli at September Farm for turning me on to this!!
My girl called from school and was not feeling herself. We decided mani/pedis were just the right solution!
After reading some other blogs, I decided to attempt cutting my blanket scarf in half. Now I have 2!
Now isn’t that better?
It is now an option to wear more than one way!
Carly still wasn’t feeling 100% so it was extra snuggle time with Dutch and he was good with it.
We were off to the doctor by 10:30.
This girl…she cracks me up! When they ask how bad her throat hurt here response was “barely”. Really? I told her next time I would just give her $30!
I’m pretty sure she just had allergies and that was causing her throat to hurt so we just took it easy and snuggled on the couch all day.
Dutch was very interested in what we were up to.
I’m working on figuring out my Nikon wifi and taking pictures with the camera from my phone. It si so much fun!
Grateful for wisdom and after one week definitely think this is a positive change but it will take some adjusting. After 4 days of getting up at 4:45 I was ready for bed!
Friday was Dillon’s birthday but he had a basketball tourney in a nearby town. Thankfully his bestie was also playing in the same tourney so we were able to have a little McJanac dinner celebration after their games!
What a surprise late Friday night when this boy showed up! I was super excited to see him as was his baby sis. I’m obviously cheating with this picture that was actually taken on Saturday!
Back to basketball on Saturday morning and the boys finished up 2-1 in the tourney. They played really well together and I am pretty sure Dillon had career high points. Such a difference to see him play with confidence!
Carly sat through one basketball game but was super excited to spent the rest of the day hanging with her bestie!
I rarely head to our local mall but Mom and I ventured out and I found several things at American Eagle on the sale rack that were an additional 60% off! I was super excited.
My mom came up for Dillon’s birthday and Dutch seriously reacts to her the same way my kids always have. He typically follows me around everywhere but when Nana is here he is all about her. It could possibly be because she feeds him constantly.
My view for the night….glass of wine and all my favorite people in my living room! Well..Dillon was here and just turned in early.
Obviously all my boys were tuckered out!
Sunday morning the boys were duck hunting which meant this girl and I snuggled for hours with Dutch reading and listening to praise music. #messyhairdontcare
It was a good morning duck hunt for these two! I just love they are enjoying this little hobby together!
We met the boys for lunch at Ninfas and this bowl of tortilla soup was perfect for the cool winter day!
Lots of grocery shopping and meal prepping all afternoon and then we grilled up burgers for dinner. Giving up the bun has really just not been that difficult for me. 2nd week down on the “Fat Furnace” challenge…..I’ll work on a little post this week with some more details.
We ended our week playing Heads Up and let’s just say….we may not have followed the rules to a T but were definitely were dying laughing and had a blast. It was the perfect ending to our week.

What a fun weekend!!!
Look at all this goodness!! No wonder you're so adorable, how cute is your mama!! So stylish in her leopard scarf!! What a great idea to cut that big ole blanket scarf in half, all that material drives me nuts!! What a fun family filled weekend, just love seeing all theses pictures and gorgeous faces!! Happy start to your week friend!!
love the pendant lights in your kitchen!! gorgeous
I have a giant blanket scarf that doesn't get much use because of how huge it is… maybe I should try cutting it (eeek).
You can tell from your pictures what an amazing momma you are to all your children, it's seriously so awesome to see. I truly hope that when my children are older they enjoy spending time with me as much as yours do!
happy monday and thanks for linking up today, you certainly do have lots to be grateful for!
Confessions of a Frumpy Mommy
I love your kitchen! Looks so open with the removal of that light!

Oh my gosh….avocado toast is my favorite. I put egg whites on mine and I agree…I think about it all the time!!! I love those pictures of you and your daughter with your Starbucks in your hand…so cozy!! What a fun weekend y'all had celebrating one boy while the other came home 🙂
So stinking good! I have added eggs once too. I seriously have not had any avocado since Friday and I'm having serious withdrawals!
Isn't it such big change? I can't wait to have it all completed and show the start to finish on the blog eventually.
What a difference in the kitchen…love the updated lights! Sometimes little things can make a huge difference. When we replaced our brass lighting, it felt like a new house. That's a great idea about the blanket scarf. There aren't many days here in Texas when I could handle having a big scarf around my neck, but that size seems more manageable! Hope your Monday-on-a-Tuesday goes well. We are all dragging a little today, getting back to routine after the weekend in New Orleans.
We only have a couple of light fixtures in the hall and the entry that have brass trim remaining but all of my door hardware is still brass. That is on my list!! It's only been 12 1/2 years….maybe by the time CJ graduates and we are ready to sell I will have it just the way I want it.
Thanks Shaunacey! Not sure about amazing but I do love those stinkers so much.
My mom is a hot mess Andrea! I always think I'm nothing like her but we were talking to my son about girls and the fact that meeting the mom is important because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree….my husband said "I know that's the truth". 🙂
What a HUGE difference in the kitchen! That is AWESOME! Love the scarf to . So cozy without being too bulky! Perfect! Looks like a great weekend!
And the ceiling has already been patched and textured….painting this weekend hopefully!!
