The Queen’s Chronicles
One more week down for 2016! Two realizations this week; things have definitely gotten a little slower for us with the time change and I definitely need to start toting around my “big” camera again. I’m super sad at the quality of some of these pictures but definitely don’t want to forget this week!
Keith was chosen to serve on a jury this past week which meant three days in town instead of his normal commute. We were able to steal away for a lunch date on Tuesday and I’m pretty sure I was talking a mile a minute. We have been missing our date nights and with deer season he hasn’t been around much on the weekends.
Well hello! These pictures totally crack me up when they show up in my photo feed! This is a deer Keith’s dad has been seeing on the night camera and holy molly, the boys (Keith, Riley, Dillon…and yes, Paw) have all had a group text talking smack to one another about who might snag the big boy first.
No, it’s not the most pleasant thing in the world but ladies get your mammogram! I make sure to gift this to myself once a year no matter what.
This girl was so super excited to wear red, white and blue to celebrate Veterans Day! I am so loving this new little moto jacket we found for her.
Back to where it all began! My friend Lisa and I met 27 years ago (not sure how that’s even possible when I’m just 28 in my mind) and we went to our first yell practice together. It’s just so crazy how at ease the two of us are with each other and I love having her come visit! I think Dutch is going to miss her most, however, because she totally let him lick all over her the entire time. Ha!
Love these two and can only imagine they will have this same kind of friendship. Of course Carly Jo reminded me she could never go without seeing Holden more than once a year!
Sunday funday and we headed to the Aggie Corn maze. It was the last day and the weather was perfect.
Love this girl and love that she always wants to do these fun little things. I know I would have good intentions but would probably not have nearly as many experiences if not for her planning!
Dillon was up at 3:30 to go duck hunting with his big bro and I could not get him up to join the fun.
Carly and I ended the day baking our first bundt cake (this one) and it tasted amazing but fell quite a bit after it cooled. A friend gave me a tip that I needed to be sure to flour the pan and not remove it too soon. I just love that this girl will spend time in the kitchen with me!
Hope you all have a super week ahead!
Linking today with B Loved Boston and Grateful Heart Monday at Ember Grey!
It's always a good week when we get a little time together! Thanks for coming with us to the corn maze today!
Oh, and that deer is completely taunting them!!!
Awe you have had some good memories the past week. Way to go on that mammogram. I have a few years yet but the idea scares the bajeezus outta me. (That won't keep me from going though.) xoxoxox
The corn maze looks like so much fun!
We missed our annual corn maze trip this year; sure looks like fun!
Flouring the pan is a must but I have never thought to let it cool in the pan, that's a great idea! Looks like y'all have been having your regular fun. That deer photo is awesome too. Have a great week dear!
Aww love that pic of the kids by the fall sign, a corn maze is a must and I missed out on one this year! My goodness, you're even gorgeous in your mammogram down, ha ha!
Glad you got to squeeze a lunch date in. Mark & I are way overdue for a normal date night due to our crazy fall activities, but managed to meet for lunch last week & I felt the same way…I talked his ear off!!
I love the corn maize pictures! So fun!
I always let me bundt cakes cool for ten minutes before I remove it from the pan. If it cools too long, it seems to adhere to the pan too much. I don't flower my pan, but I do spray the heck out of it.
What a fun weekend! The corn maize sounds like a lot of fun but mazes scare me to death because I am always afraid I will not find my way out. I am having my first mammagram tomorrow. I am trying to not freak out about it. This is my first one but I am going because I found a lump. Hope you have a wonderful Monday!
You guys always have such good weekends! Love the friendships that you showcase here, so great to have such good friends.
This one was definitely harder than last year…I had to pull up the overhead map of the maze to figure out where I was! I will send a little prayer for you in the morning. It really isn't bad just kind of uncomfortable and I had a super hard time relaxing my first time.
It is delish but so dang ugly girl. 🙂 It might take me a few times to figure it out! haha
We got it in on the very last day! It was perfect weather this year.
Girl…I need all the tips I can get. It is delish but so darn ugly!!
It was just what I needed! So glad the weather was perfect.
I don't know about always Sarah but we do try to find a little fun on the weekend. It seems like the weeks are so fast and I don't have nearly enough time with the family.
I can always count on you for a giggle — you mentioned deer and mammograms in the same blog post. Oh goodness, I'm in tears for some reason. I think I may be slap happy!
What a fun week! I had the best intentions to go to the corn maze and completely failed. Boo.
I love that y'all always find time for dates!
Still smiling over "It's Fall Y'All."
Why can't we find something like that to say up here in the north?
Haha…Michele I use y'all way too often!!
Laura you obviously have already seen how important it is to keep those home fires burning. Some weeks…heck some months are harder than others but I can always tell when we start neglecting this time!
Stephanie!! You must have been having a crazy day!! Glad I was good for a laugh.
Definitely think the green corn was much better than the burned up corn from last year!
This was our second year in a row….guess it's now a tradition!!
It isn't too bad…just uncomfortable Amanda. Nothing like having someone put a vice grip on your boob!
And she said vice grip!!!
