The Queen’s Chronicles 02.10.20
The Queen’s Chronicles is a fun way for me to document our lives and create a bit of a family scrapbook but it’s been a bit since I’ve shared our happenings. After a slow month of January when we had a chance to recharge, February hit and we are off and running with no sign of stopping before summer! Here is a little of what we have been up to so far in February!
We spent a weekend in Houston for a dance convention and Carly’s dance team perforned their Hip Hop dance during he closing show. It is called “Chop Shop” and is a fun little medley but hence the mechanic looking costumes. I wish I could share the actual video but that is top secret until competition season is over!
While we were hold up in a hotel for the weekend, my boys all headed to the coast for what was a very successful fishing outing.
Senior year, what can I say it is flying by already!! I took pictures of the senior boys on Friday to use to make the senior banners we will hang during the season. I just love this kid so much! This year he is wearing the same number his brother wore in college which I totally love.
Only 5 seniors left on this team but after watching them scrimmage they appear to be scrappy enough to pull together some competition!
Saturday morning I was excited to head to my friend Jen’s house for a little Galentines “favorite things” party. I met these two girls via influencing here in town as we have a passion for supporting local business. I’m almost old enough to be their mom but they are so sweet and it is honestly amazing how friendship can build across the ages.
Jen had a great little brunch spread full of yummy goodies, chicken & waffles and some little skewers that were literally layered banana slices and french toast bites that were delicious. None of this was on my current wellness plan but you gotta live for a few hours here and there for sure!
We all brought 3 of our favorite things and shared by drawing names. It was so much fun to find some new products and go home with 3 fun surprises!
We spent Saturday afternoon seeing this guy on the bump for the first outing of the season and he did great!
Mamaw update! She is doing so well y’all. She has come so darn far in two months. In fact, they are now “losing” her because she keeps leaving her room and wandering around looking for something fun to do or for a cup of coffee. They even found her pushing her wheelchair instead of riding in it one day!
I have decided to keep her here in College Station once she is released from skilled nursing. There is assisted living that is actually attached to the same floor she is currently residing. Due to her dementia, I really feel having a small move with familiar surroundings will cause less confusion. I’m very thankful that even with her short term memory so very short she still remembers me and is peaceful.
Sunday I rode with Riley and Taylor to the drop this guy off at the airport as he headed for Spring Training in West Palm Beach. It’s always an exciting time to see him head off to put in another year of work on his dream. Baseball is a crazy life full of uncertainty. We are all use to seeing success when you put in the hard work and when it comes to a job like this you just don’t always see it happen. Sending him off with lots of love andprayers for a healthy year.
Of course leaving this year looks a lot different as he had to say goodbye to his girls! Taylor will head out for a bit to see him in a few weeks. Baby girl is growing too and will be here before we know it.
And there you have it, our February in a few pictures! Tonight I have high school orientation for Carly Jo…..cannot even with how fast it goes! My last little baby heading to the big school. Then it’s hopefully out to dinner with two of my best girls who I haven’t seen in a sweet forever.
I have two sweet prayer requests this week. One for my friend Beth who many of you know. She announced yesterday she is beginning her battle with breast cancer and will have surgery today. Please say a prayer her surgery is without complications and she can begin her healing as soon as possible.
The second request I cannot tell you much about other than to please just lift up my sweet friend Meghan. Please pray for her comfort and peace as I know her heart is heavy right now.
Hope your week is off to a great start!
