The Queen’s Chronicles

I’m not going to lie…December hit and I’ve lost track of what week it really is!  For the sake of keeping this little family journal, here is a little of what we have been up to in snapshots.
Wednesday night before my family was arriving for Thanksgiving and I just couldn’t handle anything above a little game of Sorry on the back patio.  This is probably our families favorite board game.
This kid and I headed to the gym Thanksgiving morning for a little pre-turkey workout.
And sadly…this is the ONLY picture I took at Thanksgiving and obviously it was in hindsight.  The good news is I was totally present for lunch and enjoyed this crew so much.
Back in September, Carly requested donations for Books & a Blanket instead of gifts for her birthday.  We finally made it to tour their location and see how they work their little (or not so little) operation.  Such an exciting little venture for these two sisters.
Saturday morning we were both shocked it was much cooler than we thought.  This girl is all about the ponchos this year.
I purchased a tall skinny tree on clearance last season so I let Carly Jo pick the ornaments at Hobby Lobby and she decorated it all herself.  I was super duper impressed!
Hot chocolate bar was a big hit!
We ended Thanksgiving weekend with dinner at Freeboards before Riley headed back to Fort Worth. I just love having them all together and realize it will happen less and less as the years go by.
Y’all….this is my scrapbook table which has basically been used as a storage spot for over a year.  Ain’t no scrapbookin’ been happening and you couldn’t even see the table top.  This was such a huge relief to see it clean!
Basketball is in full swing and I’m loving watching #20 play.
I took Carly Chick-Fil-A and her friend Reese joined us for lunch “on the stage”.  Such a special treat.
I was feeling puny so it was chicken noodle soup and crackers for me.
Our elf showed up at Carly’s school with a little kindness challenge.
Day 2 of BJ the Elf and he brought a special Lotto ticket for Carly and her class to thank their bus driver.
Friday night was my very favorite Christmas party with some of my very favorite peeps.  I love laughing with these girls!
These two especially hold a super special place in my heart.
And where would we be without the men behind the women!!
Up early Saturday morning…thrilled as you can tell…to work on soliciting Walmart customers with discount cards supporting his baseball team.
Carly was suppose to sing with her choir at Central Park but she all of a sudden began feeling ill.  So she was present for the pix but that was all she wrote.
Carly spent the night with her Mimi and Dillon went to a friends so we had a second night out just the two of us and that is always a good time to hit up our favorite sushi joint.
Another kindness challenge and a few grocery items requested by BJ.
I just love this little sunshine….we had fun shopping a little to end the weekend.
Hope you all are off to a great holiday season!
