Thankful Things – TBB Asks
The Blended Blog is kicking off the first Monday of November with a TBB Asks all about things your are thankful for! Feel free to follow these prompts or link a thankful posts all your own. With all the evil our world continues to battle every day, I find some peace in looking over all I am thankful for. I hope you will too!
One | Y’all, does it make me a loser if on question #1 all I can think is I don’t have any new friends?!! Does it make it a new friend if it’s totally a one-side relationship because if so my newest friend is Jenn from The Sister Studio. I’m obsessed with her insta-stories and am sure she’s like who is this old chick that keeps commenting?!!
Two | My skin! Okay..this is hard and there haven’t been any new diamonds around here. Haha, but really, I have gotten back on a routine of washing my face every night before bed and my skin is glowing again. It’s amazing what a little TLC will do!
Three | My mother-in-law has definitely been my saving grace this past year. I know in-laws aren’t suppose to really be all that great but I pretty much hit the jackpot (twice if I’m being honest). My mother-in-law is truly at my beck and call and always willing to help me when I’m in a bind with the kids. I’m not sure what I’d do without her.
Four | Fresh flowers! Doesn’t matter if they are delivered fresh from the florist or picked up at the grocery store, heck picked on the side of the road works too, I LOVE fresh flowers!
Five | My friend Lorri called me on Friday and it was so good to hear her voice. There is just something so comforting in talking to a friend from your hometown who knows your roots and loves you anyway. The two of us logged some miles, shared lots of laughs and lots of tears and when I talk to her now I it just like we are 16 again! My friend (of 24 years) Kelli who loves me truly like Jesus does! And Holly (of 16 years) who seriously takes some of my snarkiest, worst moments and pushes me to just stop the madness.
Six | Depending on the day you catch me it might be hard to tell but I am very thankful for my office! My career has definitely exceeded my expectations and I am definitely thankful for the mentors and peers I have encountered in the workplace.
Seven | My friend Lallah taught me to look for solutions instead of focusing on the problems. It’s seems so logical but I think we all have a tendency to crater sometimes when a problem seems too big or life is overwhelming . She taught me to take a different look at things. Sometimes you will find the solution is letting something you see as a problem go.
Eight | Evidently my mind as it seems too far away to connect with these days! I’m thankful I do still have it even if it’s hard to locate.
Nine | Jesus! No doubt right now He’s the one I’m putting my trust in.
Ten | My love. I see his face every single day and am so thankful he always greets me with a sweet smile even when I’m a big sour puss.
Eleven | Blogging! I truly love this space and am thankful for the interaction it brings as well as the possibility for positive influence.
Twelve | Definitely thankful for my momma. I don’t give her much slack but I give her so much credit because I know had she not pushed me so hard to be strong I would never have been as successful at life.
Thirteen | Home! We have been working on updating a few things around the house (living room update I love) and I’m just so thankful to have a home to come home to every day.
Fourteen | Right now I have to say I’m thankful for the coaches in Dillon’s life. I know right now they have a ton of influence over him and I’m so thankful they are not only teaching him to be better on the field but leading by example off the field.
Fifteen | Coffee, I am very thankful every day to have a fresh pot of coffee waiting on me when I wake up. My husband makes the best and I so miss it when I have to make it myself!
Okay…damn this was hard y’all! I sat down to write what I thought would be an easy 20 minute post and two hours later I’m still contemplating my answers! Hope you had a much easier time deciding what you are thankful for!!
Now be sure to link up your post with The Blended Blog!
Sometimes thinking of more than a few things is hard to figure out what you’re thankful for! This is really a great list!
It’s so true and I know every day there are so many ordinary things I’m forgetting to recognize.
Yes!! This was a very hard post! Didn’t have a whole lotta time so I just picked and choosed!
Lol….It’s not that we aren’t thankful right? It really made me think harder than I was prepared to! haha
Let’s be thankful for Girls Night Outs and get a dinner on the calendar!
jealous! I would love another GNO with you 2 ladies !!
Wait….don’t we have it planned for the 13th?!! It’s on my calendar!! Can’t wait.
I’m so thankful for coffee lol
I too love me some fresh flowers, I need to gift myself some
Haha…for sure with those sweet littles coffee can be a game changer!
Shelly I think you have gorgeous skin! In every photo your skin is glowing and radiant. I agree with you though, a little TLC goes a long way but I think you also have good genes – I mean really, your Mamaw is FABULOUS!!!!!
xo,
Kellyann
Thanks you Kellyann! I have super dry skin so it tends to look dull especially if I don’t take care of it. My mom has good skin too and so I was just never taught to take my makeup off at night and was lucky not to have breakouts. Now I really, really notice when I don’t keep up with my skincare. My Mamaw on the other hand…she STILL does her daily routine morning and night!
I am so thankful for you, Jen, Holly and several other bloggers who have become my IRL friends and I look to you all for inspiration daily! Thank you for always answering my questions and giving me fashion advice because its clear I have none! Have a fabulous week my friend!
Thanks Kim! Maybe you need to tell me what other bloggers you love…seems like we like the same kinds of people!
I think we pretty much read the same one! Kimms Korner, The Larson Lingo, Narci, Shay, Holly, The Sisters Studio, That Inspired Chick, and Momfessionals. I also like The Blended Blog (your suggestion) and then from time to time I pop on over to others when I read Friday Favorites ……so not a lot to go off of I am afraid! haha!
So many wonderful things to be thankful for!
And no matter all the crazy in the world we can always find just one thing…one bit of hope to hold on to! Hope you are having a super week Lana!
haha, I thought the same about answering the questions! So much to be thankful for! Yes to fresh flowers, all the time if possible.
