Swiftie Girls Weekend – Are You Ready for It?
Are you Ready for it? We headed to Houston several weeks back for a Swiftie girls weekend! Taylor did not disappoint and the girls of all ages were thrilled! Of course, when you have a best friend who loves planning get aways there is always some extra fun involved! Come along and see the other adventures we found!
Last March we took a tour of the Buffalo Bayou Cistern on our Houston in Color bestie weekend and it was so interesting. Holly found out they had an art exhibit so we made this our first stop. If you are in the Houston area, the cistern is just a really interesting part of the bayous history and a fairly inexpensive little jaunt.
We stopped for lunch at Buff Burger and the food was amazing! I was excited to have this girl along for our girls weekend.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t really in our favor. We stopped to mill around Sam Houston Heritage Park where there are several historical homes representing Houston’s history. The rain had stopped but we were all almost eaten alive by mosquitoes! Definitely a place more suited for a beautiful fall or spring day!
We headed to the JW Marriott downtown and got all dolled up and ready for the concert! I love old downtown hotels and the character they hold. This hotel has tons of interesting art. We were all just so excited!
We decided to hire a driver to drop us at NRG Stadium and talked him into making a little jaunt to this wall. Holly is the best at finding interesting murals and we knew this would work as a perfect backdrop for our Swiftie attire! The Secret Groups black and white wall can be found at 2102 Polk Street.
Love these two to pieces! I feel like Taylor Swift has followed along so closely with Jordan’s life so sharing this with her was really special. I found Carly Jo’s top from Salty Addict on Etsy and she was great to work with! Jordan found her top on Amazon. It was a basic tee and she did the little cut out to make it unique! I was super impressed.
And these two? They have big birthday goals! We started celebrating their birthdays with “experiences” instead of parties the year they turned eleven and they pretty much have their weekends planned through their 21st birthdays already! When they told us last November they wanted to see Taylor Swift for their 13th we weren’t sure we could make it happen but I’m so glad we did!
The buildup to Taylor was amazing! I had not listened to this newest album much aside from a few songs. Seeing her in concert solidified what an artist she really is. Love her or hate her, she was born to perform and it’s hard to hate when you see someone in awe over their dreams coming true.
Did I mention the hotel had lots of art? Even an actual little gallery within the hotel! The girls went to explore while I checked out.
Bonus points for the mural just outside the hotel! These girls are just growing up so fast. I hope they always remember what a special relationship they have.
It was time for lunch and we were all starving! We headed to FM Kitchen which was also a favorite from our trip last March. The milkshakes are amazing and the moms weren’t complaining about the mimosas either!
Of course we love the fact there is a mural at the restaurant too!
These Texas murals were our next stop and we did our best with the clouds, the tripod and my remote to grab some fun group pictures! You can find these murals 1301 McKinney Street Downtown.
Last stop to capture the Greetings from Houston mural at 3602 White Oak Drive. Bonus points when a mural is on the side of a building which serves gelato! All good trips end with ice cream right? It was a swift (see what I did there) weekend but lots of memories were made! As Taylor would say hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you!
