Stranded – Outerwear
I’m sharing these pieces I own and LOVE.
A lightweight vest like my new favorite vest in this great wine color or grab one in olive to make sure you can blend in on the island. The J. Crew down vest was a splurge for me last year even at a sale price but I cannot say enough about it. The quality and the fit is so perfect and it is super warm. Of course the cozy cardigan would be perfect to wear while cozying up around a campfire.
I have worn this vest at least once a week since it arrived. The fit is so flattering and it is lightweight enough to layer easily. I doubt I will really be adding a blanket scarf for another month or so but this is definitely a prospective favorite combo.
I only wore this outfit once last year and I keep asking myself why?? It will definitely be on the top of my list once it is cool enough here!
A scarf would absolutely be a necessity to keep the bugs away if nothing else right? These are three of my very favorites! Here are a few ways I’ve styled these!
I love the way all these colors end up playing together. The green kind of works as the neutral in this combo.

In Texas we rarely need a warm coat but on the two days a year it is 32 degrees you can bet if you are a soccer mom your child WILL have a game! It’s nice to have something in the closet to pull out. I bought a similar Columbia jacket before a New Years Eve trip to New York City and it was a life saver.
I mean how cute were Holly and I in our matching Columbia coats?! We may have been poofy but we were warm!
What are your favorite pieces of outerwear?

Haha….I really do love the ones I have Beth. I've made sure to choose the softest ones I could find and wish I had more chances to actually wear them.
Thanks Sarita! I have 2 blardigans and now this cardigan and the cardigan is definitely going to see way more use outside of the house!
Thanks so much Sarah. I seriously have way too many and am constantly drawn to them.
You are absolutely adorable in your Columbia coats! And I seriously don't know how you can get any cuter, I love everything you wear and these are the perfect outerwear pieces for you!
I am rethinking the blanket scarf—If i have a great scarf, it won't even matter what's underneath it!!

In Texas the vest seems to be the very easiest way to add a little style without burning up this time of year! I have a vest obsession for sure!
You are so cute, that first outfit with the blanket scarf and the maroon vest, perfection! I want it to get cold here, currently the temp for today is suppose to be 91° ugh.
I love vests & blanket scarves! Yours are great! (I own the southwestern one, too – I love the way you styled it with white…).
All great looks!

Love the Maroon Vest! I have one and it is my Aggie Game Day uniform, tickets and passes fit in the pocket with my iphone wallet case and I cruise through the express no bag line at Kyle Field.
I love vests – because I'm always cold, they're the perfect layering piece for me. Love all your looks – I'll be copying them!
Vests are the best!!! Ha!!!
Jaymie
Haha…yes…yes they are Jaymie. Of course I keep looking at my closet thinking I should purge a few but haven't been able to bring myself to actually do it!!
Vests just work so well here in Texas. Plus…my other fave thing about them is they hide the muffin top. 🙂 Hope you are having a super week!
I am so hoping the game this weekend is going to be perfect gameday weather!! Looking good so far! Gig Em!
I should book a flight to Boston…maybe I would actually get to wear the blanket scarf before February. 🙂
The Southwestern scarf is just so much fun isn't it? I've seen your outfits and I'm pretty sure you helped convince me it was A-ok to wear it on top of olive. 🙂 I make things hard sometimes.
Girl I feel ya! It's been crazy warm here too. Earlier this week even though it was cooler it was still so incredibly muggy and gross.
So true Jodie! The blanket scarf can be a little overwhelming but I think I've finally got it figured out.
You are sweet friend. I'm a puffy mess in that big coat but it sure did keep me warm!!
I hope I get to wear them before February Rebecca!!! haha…..Texas still hasn't decided it's ready for fall.
Super cute looks! I love that vest! And that scarf! Great Fall looks!

Give me all the layers. You look stunning!! Now if only Texas would cool off!
I could deal with our current weather 95% of the year!! It's perfect during the day and just cool enough at night. Hope you are having a super weekend Stephanie!
Thanks so much Ruth!
Love all of your outerwear picks, especially your selection of vests! Layers are really essential here in California because it's often cool in the mornings and then extremely hot during the day.
