Stitch Fix Spring Edition + TBB Linkup
Stitch Fix is a fun option for me to try once every few months to find pieces I might not otherwise even try on. Plus many times the item is something I won’t see just anywhere and I love having a piece no one else is wearing now and again. I don’t know about you but some brands just fit my body better than others so I love trying new brands I may have never heard of before.
The tricky part really is finding nailing down a style profile and finding a stylist who really “gets” you and your style. Believe me I have had many boxes which were total flops! I think I’ve finally figured this out fairly well and I usually have no problem finding at least one piece to keep.
So if you have never used Stitch Fix, this service matches your style profile with a stylist, you choose your delivery date and for a $20 styling fee a box with 5 items arrives at your doorstep. The style profile is critical! And if you see someone receiving fixes you love, don’t hesitate to ask for the name of their stylist and request for yourself on your next fix. YES…you can do that! I had no clue but it really did change the joy arriving in my fix!
In order for me to keep and item it must 1) Fit well (obviously) and 2)Work well with items already in my closet. If I’m going to spend a little more on these pieces I need them to be versatile and work for the office, date night, girls night out, etc. Let’s take a look at this spring fix shall we?
If you hop over to my insta-stories today you can actually see the try on session!
First up was this sweet little Jessica Howard fit and flare dress. Not sure why I look 4 months pregnant in this picture because in person I did not notice that at all. Maybe I’m crazy too but I feel like my prom dress senior year was a Jessica Howard design but, if so, that’s the last time I’ve actually shopped this brand. I’m linking some cute dresses I found from this brand!
Fit and flare works so well on my pear shape and if a favorite for me these days. Adding a jacket and a great pair of heels would definitely give me confidence at the office but these wedges make it an easy transition for church or a nice outing.
In the end this piece was returned. I loved the fit but really did not need another dress such as this, especially in navy, in my closet.
I wish you could see the detailing of this Papermoon top a bit better because it was super cute for an otherwise simple top. This is a brand I’ve received several times from Stitch Fix and have also shopped at local boutiques. I love the quality and style from this brand. While it was perfect for summer and could easily be a great layering piece, it was also see through which makes it much less attractive for me. I’m not big on wearing camis if I can avoid it so this was returned.
How cute does it look here with these precious Dear John shorts?! I fell in love with this print which is so darn fun for spring! The shorts would be easy to dress up with a cute jacket and heels on a girls night out but would just as easily be vacation ready with flip flops! Sadly they were too big for me and at the price point I wasn’t really interested in trying to size down. They were super cute and a great fit.
I saw Jessica wearing this Pixley top from one of her last fixes and I loved it so I was super excited to see it make an appearance in my box! It too was just a tad big in the large but I was super excited to log on and find it was available in the medium so it is on it’s way to me! This is a big change Stitch Fix made as you can easily check on your own to see if the item you love is in stock in another size. Nothing is more frustrating than falling in love with an item but not being able to exchange.
Not only was this top an adorable fit but I know it will be so versatile. I can definitely see this layered under a jacket or cardigan for work with a great skirt but it will also be easy to pair with shorts for summer.
And how cute are these Splendid wedges? I loved the detailing but my only issue with these as well as so many others I’m seeing right now is they are all suede. Suede just doesn’t speak to me as a great fabric for the Texas heat. These were also just a bit clunky and way more pricey than I prefer to spend on shoes. They sure did look cute though!
These jeans are still one of my favorite spring purchases this year! I have worn them so many times and have been impressed they have not stretched out. For the price point they were a great buy.
Finding one item I know I’ll love is always my goal but the extra discount for keeping the entire box is certainly appealing! Last years spring fix was the only time I’ve ever kept a full box.
Have you used Stitch Fix in the past? Do you use another similar service? I’d love to hear how they compare.
