I was thrilled when I found out Jessica is now styling for Stitch Fix and could not wait to request her.  Her own personal fixes always have fun pieces in a similar style to mine so I knew she would do a great job!  I was totally right and loved all but one piece.

I loved the pattern and colors of this top as well as the versatility to be dressed up or down.  I styled with black jeans here but know it would work great with a skirt or shorts as well  The weight is perfect for our climate and it could be worn almost year round by pairing with fall or spring colors to bring out the variations in the blouse.  Honestly I just did not need another off the shoulder top at this time.

You guys know I am a sucker for some colored skinnies and these cords were adorable.  The fit was true to size and very comfortable but unfortunately they were definite high waters on my long legs.  Since I already have a pair of mustard skinnies I knew before trying them they would be heading back.  Such a great color to have this time of year!

One thing for sure, you never want to add ruffles to an area you do not want to highlight!  I have fairly broad shoulder and while I love showing off my shoulders with off the shoulder tops, adding a ruffle is a no, no.  This sweater would probably be adorable on a much more petite gal but for me it was not flattering.  I do love how it paired so nicely with wine jeans and booties!

I did love the style of this top and it is oh so soft!  This piece i debated over and over but ultimately decided to return.  Had this been the only item I was wavering on I probably would have kept it to receive the discount for purchasing the entire box but I just wasn’t feeling it.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!  I knew as soon as I pulled this out and saw the maroon and white stripes this would be a keeper if it fit.  I love a great fit and flare these days and this dress is no exception.  I know it will style well with a blue jean jacket as the temperatures cool off and my tall boots come out from hiding.  It will be equally adorable with a pair of slip on sneakers.  This piece is so versatile and one I know I will be wearing across seasons in so many different ways.

One thing I love the most about Stitch Fix is how easy it is and how great the customer service has been.  Anytime I’ve had any issue at all they have answered my questions quickly and with a positive solution.  I love I can pack the items up and place in my own mailbox to return without an extra trip to the post office!  And I really, really love that many of the items aren’t found anywhere else so you can count on not being twins with your coworkers and friends.  Stitch Fix is fairly low risk so if you have never tried it before it’s worth a go!

  1. So many great pieces. I especially love the two sweaters they sent you and the outfits you created with them with those plum skinny pants. I think the ruffle shoulder sweater is unique and a great price – maybe you should have kept it?! Love the floral cold-shoulder blouse too but you can find a million like those lol. You nailed all these 5 Fall looks my friend!

Welcome by to see my latest. 😉

  2. I have been considering Stitch Fix but I’m just not sure. May give it a go! I think you made great choices. I wasn’t a fan of the ruffle shoulder sweater, I’m not sure who it would look good on but you’re too pretty for it!

    1. LOL…thank you Kellyann! You should definitely try Stitch Fix someday if you just need something fun and unexpected that you aren’t seeing everywhere else. It’s a fun surprise to receive a box with no clue what’s in it! I love that I somewhat “know” my stylist too!

  3. I enjoy seeing your surprises Shelly! I can see this being a fun thing each season and love the colored skinnies you got. really, love the maroon dress! I have a similar knit one too and it is worn often and so comfy. Your otS blue top is so stunning, what a great color on you!
    enjoy your week!

  4. I love swing dresses too, and this one is so pretty on you! I’m getting Stitch Fix’s quarterly now. They did great for me in the beginning but we had some problems after that. I like the price points they are sending you – mine are always so much more expensive even though i ask for lower.

  5. I still haven’t tried stitch fix but it looks fun! I love the dress you kept, I totally agree with on your returns too. The ruffled shoulders wouldn’t work on me either, broad shoulders too. But I do need a pair of mustard skinnies so cute!

    1. Thanks Beth! I’ve gone back and forth with Stitch Fix. I tried it regularly for a couple of years and then gave up but when I started back up again I made sure to over explain my style, my size, etc. I also started looking at what other people were receiving and flat out asked for their stylists name. Once I found a stylist who “got me” it has been much more successful!
